A woman who describes herself as the head of a group called Women Concerned Against Domestic Violence stormed a Delaware Democrat’s office and lodged a complaint against him this week to demand he be held accountable for abusing his former wife.
During an interview in 1998, current Sen. Tom Carper readily admitted that he had abused his former wife, saying, “Did I slap my wife 20 years ago? Yes. Do I regret it? Yes. Would I do it again? No.”
The senator has never been held accountable for his admitted behavior, though ironically and perhaps hypocritically, he’s among the Democrats who feel Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh deserves to be held accountable for unproven allegations of sexual abuse.
“Sen. Carper has admitted to giving his wife a black eye, and Sen. Carper voted no on Judge Kavanaugh. Two and two don’t add up in this case,” Women Concerned Against Domestic Violence activist Alice Butler-Short said in an interview with Newsmax.
“If he feels that Judge Kavanaugh, now Justice Kavanaugh, was not qualified for his position, what qualifies him as a self-admitted wife beater to be a senator from Delaware? He just needs to be responsible.”

“We really want to do something about this double standard, this hypocrisy. … We think it’s time to clean house,” she said.
Besides being a man who abused his wife, Carper also happens to be a liar. Allegations regarding his abusive behavior first surfaced during his bid for a U.S. House of Representatives seat in 1982.
At the time the New York Post ran a piece on these allegations and cited court documents from a custody fight between him and his first wife, Diane Isaacs, as proof. Those documents included quotes from a taped deposition.
“I slapped Dianne one time. It was a stupid thing to do and I … regret it now. It caused some discoloration of her left eye and some puffiness,” the article quoted him as saying.
When Carper’s Republican congressional opponent cited this testimony as proof of why he didn’t deserve the seat, he denied the allegations and accused his opponent of trying to smear me. And according to the Washington Free Beacon, this rhetoric helped him win the election.
“Carper won in 1982 largely by attacking his Republican opponent for his ‘vicious’ efforts to ‘smear’ him and his wife,” the Beacon notes.
Yet 16 years he admitted that he had abused his wife all along, and 20 years after that he joined the “witch hunt” against Kavanaugh, thus proving he’s an abusive man, a liar and a hypocrite.
And it’s likely because of this that so many social media users believe he ought to resign:
