Rep. Nancy Pelosi proved that not only can Democrats make any issue about sexism, but that they are indeed the party of obstruction in her answer to a Harvard student who asked what she’d be willing to trade for a border wall to help keep America safe.
“Nothing,” replied the House leader of the party of obstruction.
Asked by a Harvard student what Democratic priority she would be willing to trade for Trump’s border wall, Pelosi said, “Nothing.” https://t.co/7Kblp2b9pP

Speaking at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, Pelosi endeavored to give the impression Democrats would “have to always try” to find opportunities to govern in tandem with Trump, according to The Washington Post.
But this alleged attempt to find “common ground” did not extend to the construction of a U.S.-Mexico border wall, as Trump has repeatedly promised to deliver.
She justified her opposition to securing the southern border by dismissing a wall as a “manhood issue” she had no interest in indulging.
The fact that the House Minority Leader sees safety and security as male qualities may go a long way to exposing her own insecurities.

“It’s immoral, expensive, ineffective and not something people do between countries,” Pelosi said. “In any event, it happens to be like a manhood issue for the president, and I’m not interested in that.”
Then again, Democrats get so much mileage from playing the sexist card, it may just be an automatic response when they cannot apply race to an issue.
Interestingly, columnist and Fox News contributor Byron York weighed in to say that Trump may have “missed” his chance to fund the wall, but that observation does not give full consideration to the opposition the president faces within his own party.
Trump had his chance to win wall funding. Missed it. If Ds win House, it's gone. https://t.co/OfRL5IDavU

The president Trump tweeted in June that Pelosi’s “dream” is “open borders, where anyone can come into our country, and stay,” and the reaction online to her offer of nothing suggests open borders is a top priority for Democrats.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
