Disgusted Cherokee Nation rebukes Warren’s epic fail DNA test and her bad day got much worse

Sen. Elizabeth Warren touted the results of a DNA test administered by a Stanford professor, saying it proved her Native American heritage claim — the Massachusetts Democrat apparently believes being 1/1024th Native American somehow exonerates her from racial fraud.

But her efforts, the clearest smoke signals yet that she plans a 2020 presidential run, turned out to be an epic failure as Warren was ridiculed unmercifully online and her bad day got a lot worse when the Cherokee Nation released a statement further rebuking her claim.

Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. called Sen. Warren’s endeavor “inappropriate and wrong,” saying it was “undermining tribal interests.”

“Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong,” Hoskin said. “It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven.”

“Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage.”

As for the aforementioned ridicule, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson had a field day on his show Monday evening, as he called “Lie-awatha” out over her “fake Indian heritage,” explaining that she did this to pose as a victim, “because on the left victim-hood is power.”

He then addressed Warren’s attempts to spin President Donald Trump ridiculing her over her audacious claim to suggest the president is mocking Native Americans.

“Hold on a minute. Who is mocking native Americans? If anybody is doing that it is Elizabeth Warren,” Carlson said. “She is the one who stole their identity and leverage their suffering to climb the greasy pole of our America.

“No high plains whiskey trader ever acted with more ruthless cynicism that she has,” he continued. “Actual Indians are disgusted by it, the Cherokee nation this afternoon released a statement, they called her claims inappropriate and wrong.

“In other words, it is bad for Indians. Looks like that backfired. DNA tests aren’t really the point and we should remember that. It doesn’t matter if Fake-ajawea is 1 percent Indian or 90 percent Indian, DNA should never matter except for physicians treating inherited illnesses. Your bloodline should not dictate who you vote for, what job you get, where your kids go to school, whether you get promoted or anything else.”

But as bad as the optics are for Warren, the lawmaker has forced the left to defend her preposterous position — in large part to get at Trump:

CNN’s Jake Tapper learned the hard way just how committed the left is to this when he left the liberal reservation to tweet the Cherokee Nation statement.

Things only got worse when Kim Tallbear, a professor at the University of Alberta hit Warren for taking the DNA test.

TallBear noted in a lengthy statement shared on Twitter that Warren refused to meet with Cherokee Nation community members who challenged her ancestry claims.

“This shows that she focuses on and actually privileges DNA company definitions in this debate, which are ultimately settler-colonial definitions of who is indigenous,” the statement said. “As scholars of race have shown, it is one of the privileges of whiteness to define and control everyone else’s identity.”

Here’s a sampling of other responses that shows just what an epic failure Monday was for one of the Democratic Party’s likely 2020 contenders.
