Talk about cultural appropriation. On behalf of women everywhere, Bette Midler tried to take ownership of the “N-word” in a tweet that was more racist than she may have realized.
In the Age of Trump, the term “unhinged” is way over used, but when considering the liberal meltdown being seen now that the Democratic Party has failed in its ambush of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, unhinged is a fitting description.
Look no further than a tweet from Midler that was quickly deleted.
“’Women, are the n-word of the world.” Raped, beaten, enslaved, married off, worked like dumb animals; denied education and inheritance; enduring the pain and danger of childbirth and life IN SILENCE for THOUSANDS of years,” the actress/singer said in a tweet. “They are the most disrespected creatures on earth.”

Of course, being a good liberal, Midler was quick to recognize the error of her ways, offering an apology after deleting the ill-advised tweet, saying the “too brief” probe of accusations against Kavanaugh set her off — this being the investigation announced to be no more than one week.
“The too brief investigation of allegations against Kavanaugh infuriated me,” she said in a follow up. “Angrily I tweeted w/o thinking my choice of words would be enraging to black women who doubly suffer, both by being women and by being black. I am an ally and stand with you; always have. And I apologize.”
And while the apology is sure to work better for her, being a ranking member of the Resistance, than it did for Roseanne Barr, even unhinged liberals saw the tweet as a bridge too far.

What in the unholy hell? @BetteMidler this right here👇🏾 is unacceptable and unbelievable. Black-folks were chattel for 250 years on this soil. Innate humanity denied generation after generation. In 2019, it will be 400 yrs since the first 20 Africans were forced here. Don’t ever! https://t.co/TjNG1QBijH

Bette Midler out here thinking she's a white woman of color.

In the end, Midler touched the third rail of racial politics in America and was quickly jolted back into her proper place by social media users of all persuasions.
With a net worth somewhere around $230 million, peddling the notion that you are oppressed is tough sell, you have to admit.

Great. @BetteMidler has deleted her tweet comparing women to slaves, but I’m stuck humming “Wind Beneath My Wings.”

This is why we can’t have nice things. Black women were literally and LEGALLY property. Fact: Many white women owned/abused slaves right along with their husbands. Ever seen a lynching picture? Guess what you don’t see: White women crying. Respect American History. @BetteMidler pic.twitter.com/AixOFYXYu8

Bette Midler wrote this garbage before deleting it…aside from being racist in how she worded it, there’s only one place in the world that women are still regularly treated like this and it ain’t America…it’s the Middle East which the Left openly ignores cause their narrative. pic.twitter.com/u3UovbYJX6

Dear @BetteMidler
I believe you meant well. Still, you crossed a line AND gave the impression that your suffering is commensurate with that of my ancestors. I don’t think that’s what you meant, at least I hope not.
Sincerely,

Eek. This is turning into a dumpster fire.
“I just went all unwoke for a minute there because I was mad.” makes the wokeness sound like a behavior when you’re on your game rather than just how you roll.

Thank you for telling Black women how to feel about a trash take that completely erases us. I’m glad to know that you don’t see us and our unique struggles as legit, and a part of your “non-racial” appropriation of a racialized and racist term. Or something. ???
