Kanye West follows pro-Trump SNL speech with a tweet that set off an even bigger firestorm

Kanye West set social media off on Saturday when he called for the abolition of the 13th Amendment.

That he — or should we say “YE” — was rocking a red “Make America Great Again” hat when he did so seemed only fitting.

“[T]his represents good and America becoming whole again.  We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs.  We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love,” the hip-hop artist tweeted.

That the 13th Amendment abolishes slavery muddied the waters up real quick, but West appeared to be talking about prison labor, which the amendment makes legal.

The 13th Amendment declares: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

He tried to clarify what he meant, but still came up a little short on specifics.

“[T]he 13th Amendment is slavery in disguise meaning it never ended […] We are the solution that heals,” West said in a second tweet.

And still they raged, prompted a third and more explicit tweet from West saying not to abolish the 13th Amendment, but to “amend it.”

“[N]ot abolish but. let’s amend the 13th amendment […] We apply everyone’s opinions to our platform,” he tweeted.

West had already drawn the ire of the left over the weekend when he bravely wore a MAGA hat while performing on “Saturday Night Live.”

The music icon boldly declared his support for President Trump, after revealing that he was bullied by “SNL” to not wear his MAGA hat on-stage.

The appearance drew the praise of the president, who took to Twitter to say West was “great.”

“Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) – no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!” he tweeted.

As for the rage, West serves as an example of how the left treats those who leave the Democratic plantation — a wholesale exit of black Americans would be crippling for the party.

Some of the most stinging criticism comes from African Americans who buy into the party’s victimization narrative. Many of the same people who also suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
