A video from a 2017 resistance rally against President Donald Trump has resurfaced revealing one of the attorneys representing Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser.
The video, uncovered by The Daily Caller, contains a clip from Debra Katz, one of the lawyers for Christine Blasey Ford who has accused the US Supreme Court nominee of sexually assaulting her at a party when the two were in high school nearly four decades ago.
The anti-Trump lawyer was at the February 2017 protest rally following the confirmation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. ABC’s “Good Morning America” identified her as a “protester” in the video.
“We are going to fight back,” Katz told a reporter. “We are going to resist. We will not be silenced.”
An alumna of the University of Wisconsin Law School, Katz was profiled in The Gargoyle, the alumni magazine for the school, as a #MeToo advocate last month.
“The resistance is not going away, says Katz, and she is committed to being part of it,” the magazine wrote.
“When I go to a march on behalf of Dreamers, I hear young people making connections between DACA and Islamophobia,” she told The Gargoyle. “I hope that energy continues, to retake our democracy that is truly at risk now.”
Katz was set to headline a fundraiser for Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin in October along with her colleague Lisa Banks but told CNN the event was cancelled.
“The short answer is this: We did a fundraiser for Sen. Baldwin six years ago when we ran for the Senate, we supported her then,” Katz said. “We are not going to be doing a fundraiser now. We’re going to be focused on the issues involving the Kavanaugh confirmation process.”
“The event was scheduled before Dr. Ford made the allegations,” a Baldwin campaign spokesman said. “Dr. Ford’s lawyers are no longer involved in the event.”
Katz and the team working with Kavanaugh’s accuser continue to delay the confirmation process in what can only be seen as tactics to derail the confirmation. After changing the deadline for Ford to respond about testifying before Congress multiple times, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley issued another extension on Friday.
