In Democrats’ arsenal of strategies to take back Congress in November, they can now add ice cream to the mix.
Democrat-inspired flavors are being touted by the founders of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in hopes to “take back Congress” in November, The Washington Times reported.
Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield announced a contest Friday, in a team effort with social justice group MoveOn, to pick the seven best ice cream flavors and names inspired by Democratic House challengers Jess King, Lauren Underwood, Aftab Pureval, J.D Scholten, Ammar Campa Najjar, Stephany Rose Spaulding and James Thompson.
“We need a Democratic majority to check President Trump’s unrestrained power,” the duo said in a press release posted on the MoveOn website.
“We also need to send progressive champions to Congress who will fix our health care system with Medicare for All, protect clean air and water, and get big money out of politics,” they added.
“But we need your help! We need to come up with seven amazing ice cream flavors (and flavor names) that not only taste great but also capture the essence of what each candidate stands for,” they said in announcing the competition which is not associated with Cohen and Greenfield’s company.
Yo, internet! We need ur help to come up with 7 amazing flavors for 7 amazing up & coming progressives who could be headed to Congress in Nov. To sweeten the deal, Jerry & I will personally make a small batch of each of the winning flavors @MoveOn https://t.co/Gvn876rtTA

Edward Erikson, a consultant working with the ice cream company founders, explained to Politico that the pair focused on “long shots, up and comers and candidates who might not be given a chance by institutional actors,” in picking the candidates.
“They’re all in difficult seats to win, but we want to spread out the map,” he said.
“This is our way of honoring some of the best up-and-coming progressive champions across the country,” Greenfield said in a statement.
Limited batches of each flavor will not be sold but will be raffled off to supporters in a similar fashion to 2016’s ice cream “Bernie’s Yearning,” created for then-presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Twitter users let the left-wing ice cream company know just what they thought of the idea, and offered up some suggested flavor names as well.
Democrat flavors? No clue.
But I’m sure it’ll cost twice as much and only be half full.

As unhealthy and overpriced your ice cream is it was still good. I can guarantee you I will never buy another one and I will make sure to spread the word that you are part of the idiotic resistance. If you hippies like socialism so much why don’t you give your ice cream away?
