Boys II Men ignite Twitter in all the right ways, deliver powerful ‘can’t kneel’ national anthem

The national anthem was at the center of attention before the Falcons-Eagles game but not because anyone was kneeling.

In fact, there were hardly signs of any protest during Thursday’s NFL-opener between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons, but all eyes were soon on Boyz II Men for their rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The R&B trio, all Philadelphia natives, thrilled fans when they hit the field donning Eagles gear and bringing down the house with their harmonies.

The verdict after the “sexy” and “powerful” rendition of the national anthem?

Twitter users concluded that the trio should be the only anthem performer at every game.

Twitter users praised the talents of baritone Nathan Morris and tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman and their ability to add their style to the national anthem.

Many announced that Boyz II Men was the “best thing about this game tonight,” and questioned how anyone could even think about kneeling during the performance.

Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett did reportedly choose to sit down before the end of the national anthem, according to Yahoo! Sports which reported that Bennett “was wandering around near the bench during the anthem, then took a seat right near the end of the song.”

One Twitter user put it nicely: “You can’t kneel if you’re dancing.”
