Cory Booker’s grandstanding stunt backfires bigtime as Grassley beats him at his own game – and then some

An attempt by loudmouth liberal Sen. Cory Booker to hijack Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing Thursday blew up in his face big time.

It all started when the obnoxious New Jersey Democrat threatened to commit an act of “civil disobedience” by releasing a confidential Kavanaugh email.

“I am going to release the e-mail about racial profiling and I understand that the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate,” the arrogant senator, who had the gall to liken himself to Spartacus, bloviated during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Thursday.

While working for the administration of then-President George W. Bush in 2002, only months after Islamic terrorists had killed almost 3,000 Americans, Kavanaugh allegedly sent an email touting his belief that the federal government should use racial profiling to root out terrorism.

That wasn’t a controversial view at the time, but this wouldn’t have mattered to Booker’s radical base, ergo why he pulled this stunt and implied that Kavanaugh had been a supporter of racial profiling. And it would have worked had two additional things not happened.

First, Booker released the email in question. And second, Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley released not only that email, but scores of other documents as well. What makes all this so wonderfully beautiful for conservatives is that the documents that were released,  including the email Booker foolhardily leaked, proved him to be a disingenuous hack.

“The people who favor some use of race/natl origin (sic) obviously do not need to grapple with the ‘interim’ question,” Kavanaugh had written, referring to those within the Bush administration who favored using racial profiling to stop terrorism.

“But the people (such as you and I), who generally favor effective security measures that are race-neutral in fact DO need to grapple — and grapple now — with the interim question of what to do before a truly effective and comprehensive race-neutral system is developed and implemented.”

The key word there is race-neutral, meaning Kavanaugh was against using racial profiling to root out and stop terrorism. This means Booker’s implication had been a lie. Why did Booker lie? For the theatrics, of course. Because he knew full well that his stunt would fool the mindless zombies who worship at his left-wing altar.

As Washington Examiner editor Lauren Cooley put it, the whole stunt was a major backfire, to say the least:

Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo weighed in, with plenty of others:

But that didn’t stop liberals for celebrating.  Just look at the hero worship he’s receiving on Twitter at this very moment:

These people are either clinically insane or so indoctrinated in left-wing claptrap that they can’t even recognize the truth under their noses. They genuinely view Booker as a courageous hero for essentially lying to the American people’s faces. What’s worse is how they’ve all chosen to treat Kavanaugh.

“I am so glad you and Sen. Harris (as well as a couple of others) aren’t putting up with Grassley and Kavanaugh’s crap,” wrote Twitter user Steve Dayton.

Kavanaugh’s crap? What, pray tell, has Kavanaugh done to earn this ire, besides work hard all his life to be an upstanding citizen and judge?

Dovetailing back to Booker, his actions are even more disgusting than they had initially looked.

Observe:

It turns that not only had Grassley planned to release the email all along, but Booker had known from the beginning. This is proof the whole stunt had been nothing but a big show purposefully manufactured to excite the base. And judging by the mindless reactions on Twitter, it worked like a charm.
