James Woods sums up Day 1 of Kavanaugh hearings ‘by the numbers’ … as only he can

The opening day of the confirmation hearing for President Donald Trump’s second pick for the nation’s highest court, Brett Kavanaugh, was a spectacle to behold, with the opposition’s antics serving as an embarrassment to the nation.

From staged interruptions from the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee to the political theater from the party’s base, many of whom had to be dragged out by police as they wailed like small children, chaos and disorder reigned.

The shocking behavior was a testament to the fact Democrats know they can’t stop Kavanaugh from being seated on the Supreme Court.

And while the national media presented this all as reasoned opposition, actor James Woods, who summed the day up by the numbers, had the courage to call it for what it was: “Mob rule.”

Fox News reported that there were 63 interruptions before the break for lunch, and cited the Capitol Police to note that there were 70 arrests.

Naturally, Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., defended the shameful behavior.

“What we’ve heard is the noise of democracy,” Durbin said, according to Fox News. “This is what happens in a free country when people can stand up and speak and not be jailed, imprisoned, tortured or killed because of it.”

Woods was all over the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing, sharing observations and updates with his 1.7 million followers.

Using the hashtag, #ScreechingDemocrats,” he included a video clip of the tantrums being thrown by people many suspect were being paid to perform. Among the rabble was Palestinian-American Linda Sarsour, the Muslim activist who helped organize the feminist anti-Trump March on Washington. (Sarsour was among the 70 arrests.)

As the outspoken conservative actor has a knack for doing, Woods nailed this gang as “the last stench of #ObamaNation.”

“It’s so delicious watching the #ScreechingDemocrats destroy themselves this close to the midterms. And, yes, the last stench of the #ObamaNation sadly still lingers, but no much longer…,” he tweeted.

Woods made a keen observation on why committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, was so patience with the Democrats’ antics.

“I thought that at first as well. Now, however, I see the #Republicans are being quite canny. Know that #Kavanaugh will be confirmed, #Grassley is letting the #Democrats show their “mob rule” mentality. Their shocking behavior will prompt many moderate Democrats to #WalkAway,” the actor tweeted.

Here’s a sampling of other offerings from Wood on the day’s events:
