A contributor at CNN, a network whose zany hosts preferring living in a world of hypotheticals versus one of facts, asked a Georgia state senator Saturday whether he would be troubled were it to be confirmed that President Donald Trump had once used the n-word.
The unusual question was in reference to unsubstantiated claims by disgraced former White House official Omarosa Newman that she had overheard the president using the n-word multiple times during her tenure back in the day on “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Despite there being no evidence to back up the claims of Omarosa, a woman whom the media used to describe as a pathological liar, CNN host Victor Blackwell asked about them anyway. He’d presumably been trying to ensure Georgia state Sen. Michael Williams in a gotcha’ moment. That didn’t happen.
“It would matter as an individual. It would not necessarily matter to me as the person that is running our country. The reason I separate those two is … he has his personal beliefs, his personal ideas, but I truly believe he is able to separate those from how he is running the country,” Williams argued.
His point was that the president’s hypothetical past transgressions should not affect the present moment, particularly in light of the fact that there’s no evidence of Trump ever using the n-word.
“He did not use the N-word as the office of the president, in that office,” Williams explained. “He used it outside his office. Now if he was president and goes on TV and uses the N-word, yes, I would have a major problem with that. But if he did it before he was president?”
Then it would be irrelevant, or so the Georgia state senator maintained, saying, “To hold somebody accountable for something he did years ago as our president today, I think it sets a bad precedent.”
That was a legitimate point, and one that Blackwell should have been more supportive of given the role left-wing networks like CNN played in suppressing former President Barack Hussein Obama’s past during his first bid for the presidency in 2008.
“Obama’s longtime association with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ would likely have derailed his candidacy had media pounced on this as they did the Trump ‘Access Hollywood’ tape,” conservative commentator Larry Elder noted in a column earlier this year.
He added that only Fox News provided ample coverage of Obama’s connection to Wright, with other networks like CNN having instead “avoided or downplayed” it.
. (Obama) stayed in racist (Rev. Wright’s) church for over 20 yrs. (Media ignored) Can U imagine if Trump had Rev. like that ?

The difference between Obama’s Wright controversy and Trump’s n-word dilemma is that one actually happened, whereas the other is just mere speculation, not that this concerned Blackwell.
“So, if the tape comes out, your defense is, ‘To hold him accountable today for what he said when he was a television host is a bad precedent?'” he asked Williams.
And there CNN goes again with the hypotheticals …
