Melania Trump begins prep for Christmas. Want to participate? Don’t miss this deadline to apply.

First lady Melania Trump has already begun prepping the White House for Christmas, which still remains four months away. And just like last year, this year she intends to recruit help from the public to make this Christmas spectacular again.

In a press release published Aug. 3, the White House explained that it’s specifically looking for musicians, entertainers and volunteers for this year’s preparations. Volunteers will reportedly be chosen to help decorate, while musicians and entertainers will be selected to perform during White House open houses in December.

Becoming a volunteer isn’t as easy as just signing up, though. Potential volunteers must submit an application through the White House by Sept. 3 at the latest. This requires that they share their phone number, their email address and any relevant work experience. Those with previous experience in interior decorating or floral design are preferred.

Similar rules apply for entertainers and musicians, who must possess professional or school experience — school bands and choirs are eligible — and be willing to pay for any costs pertaining to music equipment, travel expenses, etc.

According to Fox News, last year 25,000 visitors toured the immaculately decorated White House around Christmas.

Here’s a brief reminder of what the White House looked like at the time:

It reportedly took over 150 volunteers over 1,600 hours to piece together these decorations, which Fox noted included 71 wreaths, 53 Christmas trees and 18,000+ lights. Chosen by Melania, the decorations were designed to fit her “Time-Honored Traditions” theme. This year’s theme has not yet been chosen.

While former first lady Michelle Obama’s Christmas festivities also involved nice decorations and music, they lacked one key thing: Christmas! Because of political correctness, she and her husband, former President Barack Obama, preferred to instead celebrate the “holidays.” That however thankfully changed after President Donald Trump stepped into office.

Listen below as he promises after his election in late 2016 that the so-called “holidays” at the White House would return to being about Christmas going forward:

When Christmas with Trump in office finally rolled around, many were pleased by the transformation.

“President Trump vowed to put the Christ back into Christmas and … exactly what he did — delivering on a promise to end the ongoing war on Christmas,” Fox News’ Todd Starnes opined in a column last November.

“[S]ure enough the Trump family’s first presidential holiday card is adorned with the words ‘Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.’ And the Christmas decorations are simply spectacular — the White House decorated with lots of red and green and gold. And yes –there’s even a Nativity — an ever-present reminder of the reason for the season.”

“Thank you, Mr. President for being a man of your word — a man who is not ashamed to say, ‘Merry Christmas,'” Starnes concluded.

Indeed, and amen!
