Illegal alien, not separated from his pretend ‘daughter’ at border, is arrested for repeated rape of the girl

In a tragic case of life imitating the political rhetoric denounced by Democrats, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala was arrested for multiple counts of rape after he tried to enter the United States with a child he claimed was his daughter.

Ramon Pedro arrived with a young girl he claimed was his daughter at the Ysleta Port of Entry in Texas in mid-April, a DHS official said in a statement this week, according to The Daily Caller.

Townhall’s Katie Pavlich reported that a Department of Homeland Security official said in a statement Pedro and child “were subsequently released on alternatives to detention.”

Very likely the result of the outcry from the left over the Trump administration policy of separating illegal immigrant families.

As it turned out, the two were later tested for tuberculous and that’s when authorities learned the child was not a blood relative and was being systematically sexually abused.

“In fact, the victim’s mother told her daughter to accompany Pedro to the United States and he would secure her employment,” a DHS official said.

“[O]n July 27, 2018, the Huron Police Department arrested him for multiple felony offenses for rape, oral copulation, forcible sexual penetration and endangering/causing injury to a child. He is currently detained in Fresno County Jail on a $310,000 bond,” the official added.

The case is precisely one of the concerns posed by the Trump administration in regard to a now discontinued policy of separating children from migrants who broke U.S. law entering the country.

In addition to protecting children from being placed with adults who were not their parents, another concern was children being victims of sex trafficking rings.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielson spoke about this back in June at a White House press briefing.

“If there’s no documentation to confirm the claimed relationship between an adult and a child, we [separate] if the parent is a national security, public or safety risk, including when there are criminal charges at issue and it may not be appropriate to maintain the family in detention together,” Nielsen said.

Immigration authorities say Central American migrants use children to flout our laws when arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to the Daily Caller.
