Democrats again proved their stunning lack of civility this week by mocking Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul over the physical assault he suffered from a neighbor last year that left him with broken ribs and lacerations to his lungs.
One Democrat in particular, Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, made a joke about the assault while at a political gathering Friday known as the Fancy Farm Picnic, where several Kentucky political candidates were reportedly present.
“Just ask his neighbor — he can be beaten,” she said, according to Associated Press reporter Adam Beam.
Alison Lundergan Grimes on Rand Paul: “Just ask his neighbor. He can be beaten.”

While it’s unclear why she made the remark — Paul isn’t up for reelection til 2022 — it’s nevertheless rather disconcerting that she said something so foul.
The attack on Paul occurred as he mowed his lawn on Nov. 3, 2017. Though the perpetrator was later outed as a socialist/Democrat who often argued with other neighbors about health care policies and other liberal issues, the attack was reportedly not related to politics.
Instead the neighbor reportedly attacked Paul after the senator blew some leaves onto his property while using his lawnmower. The perpetrator was only just sentenced two months ago to 30 days in prison and a year of supervised probation.
Regarding Grimes’ lousy joke, what’s interesting is that Paul’s chief strategist, Doug Stafford, chose to reply by tweeting back at Beam with his response.
He wasn’t the only one either.
Look:
That’s almost as sad and pathetic as her last campaign. Mitch beat her so bad he almost got charged with a hate crime.

These Democrats are making the 2nd Amendment more important than ever. Their aggressive rhetoric and divisive language is causing widespread violence.

Not cool Alison.

Tacky.

Typical liberal hate

Stafford’s tweet referenced Grimes’ failed 2014 election campaign against the seat of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. She lost in a near-landslide, earning only 40.7 percent of votes versus McConnell’s 56.2 percent.
According to Beam, Grimes also took a shot at Paul for skipping the Fancy Farm Picnic to reportedly support the president’s foreign efforts, accusing him of instead looking for another campaign manager.
Rand Paul is not coming to Fancy Farm. He’s on a trip to Russia. Alison Lundergan Grimes says Paul is “looking for a campaign manager.”
— Adam Beam (@adambeam) August 4, 2018
Stafford had a response for this as well:
But I’m not in Russia, I’m in Virginia.
— Doug Stafford (@dougstafford) August 4, 2018
It’s clear now why the senator hired Stafford as his campaign strategist. The guy knows how to talk the talk and walk the walk.
As of Saturday morning Paul had not not responded personally to Grimes’ trash talking. Nor had Grimes made any mention of it herself on social media. Instead her Twitter account was brimming with endless liberal talking points.
