Congresswoman Maxine Waters has been slapped with another ethics complaint alleging that she’s charging fellow Democratic politicians tens of thousands of dollars to endorse them and is funneling the money back to her daughter.
A government watchdog called the National Legal and Policy Center filed the ethics complaint with the FEC (Federal Elections Commission) on July 25. Waters is accused of violating federal election laws by accepting $35,000 to her campaign fund from the Democratic State Central Committee of California.

“The Democratic State Central Committee of California’s $35,000 contribution to Citizens for Waters violated campaign finance limits,” the complaint states.
Under federal law, individual campaign contributions are technically capped at $2,700 to a candidate’s committee and $5,000 to a political action committee.
Waters — who has been in Congress for 28 years — has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars each election cycle as part of a gravy-chain operation called “slate mailers,” also known as “endorsement mailers.”
The slate mailer operation is a lucrative enterprise where an established politician like Maxine Waters gets paid to endorse a fellow Democratic political candidate. The mailers are sent to 200,000 residents in South Central Los Angeles, a district Waters represents (but does not live in).
As BizPac Review has reported, Maxine Waters’ daughter, Karen, has raked in more than $750,000 since 2006 to oversee this cushy slate-mail program.
Karen Waters has been on the payroll of her mother’s campaign committee, Citizens for Waters, since 2006. In 2016 alone, Karen Waters was paid $70,000 to run her mom’s slate-mailer operation.

Tom Anderson, a director with the National Legal and Policy Center, filed the first of two ethics complaints last month, calling for a full audit of the Citizens for Waters campaign.
“Maxine Waters found an old provision and turned it into a cottage industry,” Anderson told Fox News.
“She is going to be re-elected no matter what. She comes…to other politicians in California to say, ‘Do you want my endorsement?’ because she knows they don’t want her opposing them.”
If you don’t pay to be on her slate, then maybe you’re one of Trump’s people. A local politician, like a judge, does not want to be on her bad side.”
Maxine Waters was elected to Congress in 1990. Her career highlights include being rated one of the most corrupt members of Congress in 2005, 2006, and 2008 by the George Soros-funded liberal watchdog CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington).
How can a congresswoman — whose annual salary is $174,000 — afford a $4.3 million gated mansion in Los Angeles (see video below posted by YouTuber Michael Gordon)? She also reportedly owns several other properties but claims to champion the poor.
Waters’ congressional district has a per-capita annual income of $26,436, where 20.5% of the population live below poverty. Naturally, Maxine lives outside the congressional district she was elected to represent.
