Trump notes ‘Fox & Friends’ stellar ratings with hard-hitting tweet. Let’s just say, ‘Morning Joe’ didn’t appreciate it

Fox News Channel’s record-making ratings – and President Donald Trump’s shout out about them – set off a petulant MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.

Trump noted that “Fox & Friends” was “blowing away the competition” in an early morning tweet on Thursday.

The president also slammed “Fake News CNN” as well as “Morning Joe” which he said was “a dead show with very few people watching.”

Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski fired back at Trump on “Morning Joe” Thursday, advising the president to “get some sleep.”

“If it’s true nobody is watching us anymore, we know based on your staff members that we have at least one viewer every morning, and we thank you Donald,” Scarborough said sarcastically, after Willie Geist read the tweet on the air. “We can always count on you. How are you doing? Get some sleep. We’re sad for you. He’s not doing well.”

“It appears and many would deduce that his lawyers think he’s a moron,” Brzezinsk noted later in the show, “and his tweets indicate that he’s very afraid, tweeting all night long, tweeting about morning shows.”

“I mean, this is unhinged behavior,” she added.

Fox News Channel claimed 13 of the top 20 cable news programs in total viewers for the month of July, according to a press release citing Nielsen Media Research. The network even boasted 11 of the top 20 cable news programs in the 25-54 age demograhic.

Primetime programs “Hannity,” “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” “The Ingraham Angle” and “The Five” were among the top four programs in both total viewers and in the 25-54 demographic.

“Continuing to make cable news history, FNC’s signature morning show FOX & Friends marked 201 months as the number one cable news program in its timeslot with an average of 1.5 million in total viewers and 301,000 with the 25-54 demo,” the press release read.

Maybe MSNBC could enjoy some better ratings numbers if they weren’t so busy bashing Trump and his supporters.

“Morning Joe” might even take a cue from rival Fox News which featured “Fox & Friends” weekend co-host and army veteran Pete Hegseth sitting down with Vice President Mike Pence in Hawaii following the ceremony to honor the remains of missing American service members who were killed in the Korean War.

MSNBC apparently did not even cover the ceremony.

“I think there’s a lot of people in the so called mainstream media that would do well to spend a little bit more time traveling across this country and listening to the American people,” Pence said.

“It was very humbling for me to be there. I spoke to the president shortly after the ceremony and I told him I’m not sure he’s given me a greater honor than to represent him here today,” he said. To see those 55 flag draped cases be carried so solemnly in and not just as a vice president, but as the son of a combat veteran from the Korean War it was deeply moving for me but it’s what great nations do. And I couldn’t be more proud to be an American today.”
