Michael Cohen is a “pathological liar” whose latest claims against his former client, President Donald Trump, are the desperate flailings of a drowning man.
That’s how Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani summed up the latest allegations by Cohen, who now claims the president knew about Donald Trump Jr.’s 20-minute meeting at Trump Tower between Trump campaign officials and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in June 2016.
“He’s been lying all week, he’s been lying for years,” Giuliani told CNN’s Chris Cuomo. “A year ago, when I wasn’t [Trump’s] lawyer, people in your profession told me, ‘This guy will flip because he is an inherent, pathological liar.'”
Giuliani is a former federal prosecutor. His record of 4,152 convictions with only 25 reversals is one of the winningest records in the history of U.S. attorneys.
Giuliani said it’s obvious that Michael Cohen is making up lies in order to save himself. The problem for Cohen is that he is not a credible witness because his prior statements contradict his current claims. So is Cohen lying now, or was he lying before?
Cohen turns to try to save his hide, and he is willing to tell a special counsel that there was collusion but it happens to be the one conversation in his life he didn’t record. What are the odds?
Literally everyone in this is terrible.

“A person who is found to be an incredible liar — he’s got a tremendous motive to lie now because he’s got nothing to give — says it all of a sudden at the 11th hour,” Giuliani said. “I don’t think anybody believes that. I’m not worried about him at all.”
As BizPac Review previously reported, CNN unleashed another failed “bombshell” earlier this week, when it breathlessly touted a muffled audio recording that it claimed incriminates President Trump. That turned out to be a big nothing burger.
The general consensus is that the audio is so low-quality that listeners cannot accurately make out Trump’s words. The other consensus is that Michael Cohen will get disbarred for secretly recording his client and leaking the tape to the media, in violation of attorney-client privilege.
“[Cohen is] the kind of witness who can really destroy a whole case,” Giuliani said.

As BizPac Review previously reported, Don Jr. met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya for 20 minutes at Trump Tower in June 2016.
E-mail chains showed that Natalia’s friend (an acquaintance of Don Jr.) had promised dirt on Hillary Clinton to secure the meeting. But when they met, she instead lobbied Don Jr. to change an obscure anti-Russia law called the Magnitsky Act.
It was a classic bait-and-switch, which publicists do all the time when they pitch the media and celebrities. During political races, campaigns spend countless hours doing opposition research on their rivals. This practice is legal and has been going on forever.

President Trump denies he knew about the Trump Tower meeting. That said, even if he had known about the meeting in 2016, who cares? No laws were broken.
Hillary’s allies reportedly colluded with the Ukrainian government and with China to influence the 2016 election, but the mainstream media blithely ignored that.

Meanwhile, journalists on Twitter agreed that this latest Cohen “bombshell” is another nothing burger because even CNN admits Cohen has no evidence to back up his latest allegations.
Anti-Trump Daily Wire editor Ben Shapiro, an attorney who graduated from Harvard Law School, sarcastically commented on Cohen’s lack of credibility.
Shapiro tweeted: “I definitely believe Michael Cohen’s latest evidenceless accusations because he is a credible person who has no reason to inflate Trump’s supposed crimes to give himself leverage. /sarcasm/”

Author Evan Siegfried noted: “Big problem here is that Cohen is a potential witness for the prosecution who has a massive credibility problem. Likely why he’s been posturing so hard publicly this week by attempting to get prosecutors to bite on giving him a deal.”

Seth Mandel, an editor with the New York Post, quoted from CNN’s own story, when it noted: “To be clear, these sources said Cohen does not have evidence, such as audio recordings, to corroborate his claim, but he is willing to attest to his account.”
Is this all you got?

Then, there was Cohen’s own words when he praised Don Jr. last year for being “open, honest and transparent” about the Trump Tower meeting.
So proud of @DonaldJTrumpJr for being open, honest and transparent to the American people. This nonsense needs to stop! pic.twitter.com/bJz3bhnept
