The left has a new hero after a heated on air exchange between Piers Morgan and an anti-Trump protester who clashed over the hypocrisy of her views.
The British television host got into a fiery debate with a leftist journalist and supporter of the “Stop Trump Coalition” on “Good Morning Britain” on Thursday.
“I do not understand why, when we’ve just had the president of Turkey and the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, why are we having much bigger protest on Donald Trump, our ally,” Morgan questioned.
Morgan and co-host Susanna Reid discussed planned protests ahead of President Donald Trump’s official U.K. visit, questioning whether they were justified. Guest Ash Sarkar was adamant she would be joining “thousands of others” in Westminster to protest Trump’s immigration policies.
“I’ll be marching in Westminster tomorrow alongside thousands of other people who find the policy of forced separation unconscionable,” she said. “Who think that the sign of our elected prime minister holding hands with Donald Trump’s hand is an utter embarrassment.”
“Did you find the idea of Obama deporting three million people unconscionable?” Morgan asked.
He then grilled Sarkar on her knowledge of former President Barack Obama’s history of deportations, accusing her of singling out Trump while not caring about his predecessor’s record.
“I’m not here as a defender of Obama or Clinton or any Democrat, I’m here as a critic of Trump,” she shot back under his line of questioning.
“You have absolutely no idea how many illegal immigrants were deported under Obama,” Morgan said. “Can you give me any number? Do you have any idea at all?”
Sarkar continued to insist she did not know the answer and was not an Obama supporter but the two continued to spar for a few minutes. Morgan pressed on, accusing her of “double standards” for not marching against Obama when he visited in 2016.
“You should go an learn some facts about your hero Obama,” Morgan finally declared as his co-host tried to regain control on the set.
“He’s not my hero,” Sarkar shot back, exasperated. “I’m a communist you idiot.”
Though the moment ended in laughter for Reid, a star had been born in the eyes of the left which quickly elevated Sarkar to hero status.
“Literally a communist and literally our hero,” Elle reported in a piece titled, “Today’s Hero: This Girl Who Shouted ‘I’m a Communist, You Idiot’ at Piers Morgan.”
The Cut suggested the “extremely satisfying two-second video clip” of Sarkar calling Morgan an “idiot” be played “on loop.”
Morgan even sparred on Twitter with his critics, like so-called comedian Sarah Silverman.

I strongly criticised Trump for that policy. But Obama split up a lot of families too with his record-breaking 3m+ deportations.

Sarkar and Morgan didn’t end the debate on the set of “Good Morning Britain,” taking the throwdown to Twitter.
Yeah, I couldn’t remember the figure for how many were deported under Obama. But that’s still not half as embarrassing as @piersmorgan forgetting that he’s actually meant to be a journalist.

Though Morgan may not be on the favorites list for some Trump supporters, many came to his defense for pressing the questions about the left’s hypocritical standards and relentlessness Trump-bashing.
He got annoyed because she kept refusing to answer simple questions that she should have known, she’s a hypocrite!
