Democrats and their media allies have gone completely off the chain in their largely trumped up narrative about illegal immigrant children being separated from parents and being held in cages or “concentration camps” — anti-Trump zealots are going so far as to compare border patrol agents to Nazis.
But then, this coordinated effort succeeds in distracting from senior level FBI agents voicing their intent to prevent President Donald Trump from being elected.
And intended or not, they now have a new ally in former first lady Laura Bush, who has joined the meltdown — then again, the Bush family has never been too keen on Donald Trump… or overly charged to do something about illegal immigration.

Bush penned an op-ed in the Washington Post commenting on the administration’s zero-tolerance policy at the border that replaced the Obama-era “catch and release” policy.
“I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart,” Bush wrote.
Under the new policy, when migrants with children — who may or may not be their own — enter the US illegally, they are being arrested and their children are not being incarcerated with them, resulting in the separation. This happens to US citizens who have children if there’s no family member to take custody after being arrested.
Imitating the concentration camp narrative, Bush compared the holding facilities to “Japanese internment camps.”
“Our government should not be in the business of warehousing children in converted box stores,” she continued. “[O]r making plans to place them in tent cities in the desert outside of El Paso. These images are eerily reminiscent of the Japanese American internment camps of World War II, now considered to have been one of the most shameful episodes in U.S. history.”
The former first lady cited the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Collen Kraft, to note that the holding facilities have “beds, toys, crayons, a playground and diaper changes,” but that workers “had been instructed not to pick up or touch the children to comfort them.”
The wife of George W. Bush, the man who epitomizes “compassionate conservatism” and all its trappings, called for an end to the practice.
“It is our obligation to reunite these detained children with their parents — and to stop separating parents and children in the first place,” Mrs. Bush concluded.
President Donald Trump pushed back against the media onslaught Saturday with a tweet, saying Democrats hold the key to resolving the issue.
“Democrats can fix their forced family breakup at the Border by working with Republicans on new legislation, for a change! This is why we need more Republicans elected in November,” Trump tweeted. “Democrats are good at only three things, High Taxes, High Crime and Obstruction. Sad!”

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” to put the onus on Congress to act.
“Chuck, let me just tell you, that nobody likes seeing babies ripped from their mothers’ arms,” Conway said on Sunday. “As a mother, as a Catholic, as somebody who has got a conscience … I will tell you that nobody likes this policy.”
