Breaking: Active shooter reported in Panama City, Fla.

Police are reportedly responding to an active shooter situation in Panama City, Fla.

The scene is in the 2300 block of Beck Avenue. A witnesses told WJHG they heard at least 50 gunshots.

Several police units and a SWAT team are reportedly in the area, according toWJHG.

Our sister paper just called to report they are investigating a homicide in Fort Walton Beach and they were told that a suspect was getting ready to be arrested in the area where Panama City now has an active shooter. No confirmation that the two are connected.

We are cooperating with law enforcement who have asked us not to show officers in action during this active shooter situation so we do not give any information inadvertently to the suspect.

It is unclear if there are any injuries or fatalities.
