The brilliance of President Donald Trump is that he can prompt Democrats to say or do some eye-opening things in opposition to him, to include defending viscous MS-13 gang members.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi went so far at to speak of the “divinity” in these “animals,” as Trump accurately called them, with the San Francisco Democrat saying “we all have to recognize that as we respect the dignity and worth of every person.”
Try telling that to the parents of Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens, who were brutally killed in September 2016 by members of the MS-13 gang in New York.
Democrats and their media allies jumped on Trump saying of MS-13 gang members who entered the US posing as unaccompanied minor children, “These aren’t people. These are animals.”
But then, to the progressive left, MS-13 gang members who rape, kill and behead are but poor migrants striving for a better life, while the real terrorists are responsible, law abiding Americans who join the NRA.
In a transparent effort to pander to Hispanic voters, Pelosi misrepresented Trump’s remark at her weekly news conference, as if he was speaking about all immigrants.
Referencing the Gospel of Matthew and feeding the hungry, Pelosi continued the media’s disgustingly spun narrative (that was already coming undone) and told the press that “41 million people in our country are food-insecure.”
“We believe that some of us who are attracted to the public arena or to government and public service, that we’re all God’s children, there’s a spark of divinity in every person on Earth and that we all have to recognize that as we respect the dignity and worth of every person, and as we recognize our responsibilities with that spark, that divinity within us,” she said.
Pelosi says little about the “inhumane” actions of MS-13 gang members, but she was quick to assign the label to the Trump administration in her bizarre analogy.
…while calling for bipartisanship.
“And so when the President of the United States says about undocumented immigrants, ‘These aren’t people, these are animals,’ you have to wonder, does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person? ‘These are not people, these are animals’ — the President of the United States,” Pelosi said.
“Every day that you think you’ve seen it all, along comes another manifestation of why their policies are so inhumane and why we have to continue the debate striving for bipartisanship,” she rambled on, “with openness about what is at stake and what the choices are and to be unifying in every way possible. Calling people animals is not a good thing.”
Pelosi wasn’t alone in twisting Trumps words to mean more than was intended, as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer took to social media to push the narrative.
“When all of our great-great-grandparents came to America they weren’t ‘animals,’ and these people aren’t either,” the New York Democrat tweeted.

But Schumer was quickly reminded about the difference, as seen in an offering from Bethany Mandel.
“My great great grandparents weren’t gang members who raped and hacked women to death,” Mandel tweeted.

Here’s a sampling of other responses from Twitter, where social media users see Democrats defending MS-13 making for a great campaign ad for Republicans:
Ad running this fall:

People always ask me why I’m no longer a Democrat…
Well, you can add “Democratic leaders defending MS-13 gang members” to the list.https://t.co/TGe7aRIdwY

Pelosi thinks tax cuts and the NRA are mass killers, but MS-13 are worthy of dignified rhetoric. https://t.co/cvsKAn7k8b

Pelosi and Schumer hate Trump so much that they’re straight up defending MS-13.https://t.co/S6R3iYuYlV

I wonder how many MS-13 gang members make it past Nancy Pelosi's high walls and armed guards?
I'll guess not many.
But the rest of California can fend for yourselves.#MS13 #Animals https://t.co/oVsiW6yuCV

Nancy Pelosi looked ready to cry when mentioning that the President referred to MS-13 as animals. Would be worth millions of votes as a campaign ad. What a moron she is. Walking advertisement for term limits.
