Rudy Giuliani, the newest member of President Donald Trump’s legal team told FOX News host Laura Ingraham on Wednesday night that Special Counsel Robert Mueller should wrap up his probe “as soon as possible.”
He also warned if Mueller produces “an unfair report,” they’re ready to rip it apart, as well as ripping apart Mueller’s investigative team.
The former New York City mayor appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” to mark the one year anniversary of Mueller being appointee special counsel to investigate concerns of collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia — an endeavor that relied in part on a verified dossier funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Giuliani was confident that Mueller does not have a case for collusion.
“It’s been a year, he’s gotten more than 1.4 million documents, he’s interviewed 28 witnesses, and he has nothing, which is why he wants to bring the president into an interview,” he told Ingraham.
As the interview drew to a close, the Fox News host asked Giuliani about the optimal timeline for Mueller to wrap up his efforts.
“They should do it today, as soon as possible,” he replied.
“I think they have the facts from which they can write their report,” Giuliani added. “If you’re going to write a fair report, fine, write it.”
But he then warned about what to expect if Mueller generates an unfair report.
“If you’re going to write an unfair report, write it and we will combat it,” he continued. “We’re ready to rip it apart and we’re ready to rip them apart, if that’s what they want.”
“We would rather peacefully settle this and get it over with,” Giuliani concluded.
