Former federal prosecutor Rudy Giuliani said U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions should shut down the Robert Mueller investigation for lack of evidence for both Russian collusion and obstruction of justice.
Giuliani, who’s a member of the Trump legal team, also underscored that President Trump did not violate campaign finance laws with his alleged $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels stemming from their rumored 2006 one-night stand.
“Attorney General Sessions should step up and dismiss this entire investigation,” Giuliani told Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro. “[Federal judge T.S. Ellis] said this is a witch hunt in sum and substance.”
Giuliani added: “There’s no evidence of [wrongdoing by Trump]. The only crimes committed here have been given by the [Obama] government. Which is why the judge, Judge Ellis, is so outraged. I wouldn’t be surprised if he dismissed this case.”
When Judge Jeanine asked the former DOJ attorney whether he had made a mistake when he revealed that Trump aides had given $130,000 to Stormy Daniels, Giuliani suggested he made the revelation to point out that President Trump did not violate federal campaign laws because he did not use campaign funds to pay Daniels.
“I’m talking about the law and the conclusion. The facts I’m still learning. I am an expert on the law, and particularly on campaign finance. There is no way there was a campaign finance violation in any way. Nor was it a loan. It was an expenditure.
This expenditure would have been made whether he was or wasn’t running for president. And we can show that from the history of these two gentlemen [Trump and his personal attorney Michael Cohen].”
Liberal media have been gleefully drooling over the possibility that Giuliani accidentally let slip that Trump had paid off Stormy Daniels (thereby confirming their one-night stand from 12 years ago).
But savvy observers note that the admission was made to exculpate President Trump from an actual potential legal crisis, which is campaign finance-law violations. And Giuliani stressed that there was no such violation. Remember: It is not a crime to pay a porn star (who gets paid $500 to $2,000 a day to have sex with random people) for an alleged one-night stand.
Giuliani also underscored that President Trump should not sit down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller because he is not a target of any investigation, and it’s nothing more than a perjury trap.
Giuliani also slammed the FBI’s toothless “investigation” of Hillary Clinton’s unsecured private email server, saying he’d agree to let President Trump be interviewed under the same sweetheart-deal conditions she got, which was:
- No sworn oath to tell the truth.
- No detailed Q&A by FBI interrogator.
- Lead investigator writes letter exonerating Trump before his interview takes place.
“No under oath. We’ll take that now!” Giuliani said. “No Q & A, just notes. FBI 302s. And how about the report written by that phony Jim Comey before he even interviews her? What the hell was the interview for? ”
Judge Jeanine replied: “I ran a prosecutors office, you ran a prosecutor’s office. You are renowned for what you did in the Southern District of New York.”
Giuliani replied remorsefully: “Yeah, and I hired that clown [James Comey].”
As BizPac Review previously reported, Rudy Giuliani is a fierce former DOJ prosecutor. His record of 4,152 convictions with only 25 reversals is one of the winningest in the history of U.S. Attorneys. With him on board the Trump train, Mueller has his hands full.
