While liberals predictably salivate over James Comey’s memoir, those who actually read it have serious questions.
Fox News’ legal and political analyst, Gregg Jarrett, predicts the tell-all book will be the demise of the former FBI director, calling it a work of “fiction” and “fantasy.”

Jarrett tweeted out about his progress in reading the book, “A Higher Loyalty,” which he declared was full of “self-adoration and puffery.”
I obtained a copy of Comey’s book. I’m half way through, but so far there is nothing resembling the truth. I’ll keep searching for something other than self-adoration and puffery. So far, there is no demonstrable truth. Which puts a lie to the title of the book.

Jarrett followed up with an update when he completed the “superficial” memoir.
“I can only conclude that Comey’s version of events is fantasy. It is fiction,” the former trial attorney tweeted. “Things will end badly for Comey.”
I’ve finished reading Comey’ book. It’s an easy and superficial read. I saw nothing that was true. I can only conclude that Comey’s version of events is fantasy. It is fiction. Things will end badly for Comey. He stole government documents.

Retired FBI agent, James Gagliano, raised the question of whether Comey was authorized to even write his book since the FBI requires a review of any materials being considered for publication.
JAMES COMEY BOOK
Section 2.4 of FBI’s Prepublication Review Manual covers:
PROHIBITED DISCLOSURES
FBI Employees shall not disclose “information that relates to … the substantive merits of any ongoing or open investigation or case.”
Just going to leave that right here …

For those who continue to ignorantly claim that James Comey is not subject to FBI prepublication review mandates, b/c he is no longer an “employee,” well …
Here is the definition of “employee” on page 2 of the Prepublication Review Manual. pic.twitter.com/KmhQ7WUqku
— James A. Gagliano (@JamesAGagliano) April 13, 2018
Per Prepublication Review Manual:
“Employee” defined: “an individual who has or who HAS HAD a position of trust w/FBI by virtue of employment, contract, detail, assignment, joint task force, internship, etc, & through this relationship has or HAS HAD access to FBI information.”

Gagliano, a 25-year veteran of the bureau and currently a law enforcement analyst on CNN, thinks Comey is “probably a decent person” but criticized the fired chief’s book tour promoting his memoir as “foolhardy & vainglorious.”
I’m critical of his actions. I’m an agnostic on the man, personally. I don’t know him. But I served in the FBI a lot longer than he did. I think he is probably a decent person who made some dubious criticism-worthy leadership decisions. Book tour is also foolhardy & vainglorious.

Judicial Watch took things to the next level and filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit with the Justice Department to find if Comey got “special treatment” in writing his memoir.
JW filed a FOIA lawsuit w/ the DOJ for FBI docs on Comey’s new memoir — FBI officials are usually required to submit transcripts for pre-publication review. JW wants to know whether Comey got special treatment, like he did when he leaked info to the media. https://t.co/NWXvppCjHa

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton called out Comey’s “vendetta” against President Trump.
We already know Comey took FBI records and illegally leaked them to get a special counsel appointed as part of his vendetta against @realDonaldTrump. Now it looks like he doubled down and used them also to write a book. And the DOJ/FBI has yet to lift a finger. https://t.co/gSVLmJXSwr

Set to kick off his book tour on Sunday, Comey continues shilling his memoir, making the rounds on liberal media to “cash in on his very public hatred for President Donald Trump,” as Fox News’ Sean Hannity said.
And the president himself fired a shot at Comey on Friday, calling for the “proven LEAKER & LIAR” to be prosecuted for leaking classified information and lying under oath.
James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH. He is a weak and…..
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 13, 2018
The criticism continued to rain down on Twitter.
The book seems to be exactly what we thought- A grandstanding corrupt former FBI Director praising himself and lying about President Trump. There is more reality in a Bill Clinton deposition than a Jim Comey book.

My jaw is literally on the floor! This just HAS to be a joke. Greg Jarrett obtained a copy & just finished reading it. His response attached. Bill Kristol (Never Trumper) sounded like he read it too. If this page is truly in there, this book will be DOA before his interview airs pic.twitter.com/np5nKiQ3fX
