Another Republican-in-name-only weeding himself out from the bunch? Score one more win for President Trump.
Liberals cheered after reports that long-time Fox News contributor Ralph Peters was leaving the network over it becoming a Trump “propaganda machine,” but the disgruntled analyst was promptly derided by Fox News and conservatives.

Following BuzzFeed‘s publication of an email Peters sent colleagues regarding his departure, Fox News issued a brief statement excoriating the 65-year-old retired Army lieutenant colonel.
“Ralph Peters is entitled to his opinion despite the fact that he’s choosing to use it as a weapon in order to gain attention,” the network fired back. “We are extremely proud of our top-rated primetime hosts and all of our opinion programming.”
In his email, Peters took specific aim at Fox News’ prime-time lineup, which includes hosts Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Tucker Carlson.

He wrote:
“In my view, Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration. When prime-time hosts–who have never served our country in any capacity–dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller–all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of ‘deep-state’ machinations– I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove. To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit.”
Peters, a Republican Trump critic who said he voted for Hillary Clinton despite calling her “corrupt” and “greedy,” accused Fox News of “assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers.”
Watch what happens when ‘The View’ divas realize Trump’s ‘big data mining scandal’ is Obama’s genius

“I am ashamed” to be associated with Fox, he said.
During the Obama administration, Peters said he took issue with the 44th president’s “duplicitous folly” on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He now savaged President Trump, claiming that the DNC-financed Steele dossier “rings true.”
“As a Russia analyst for many years, it also has appalled me that hosts who made their reputations as super-patriots and who, justifiably, savaged President Obama for his duplicitous folly with Putin, now advance Putin’s agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign. Despite increasingly pathetic denials, it turns out that the ‘nothing-burger’ has been covered with Russian dressing all along.
“And by the way: As an intelligence professional, I can tell you that the Steele dossier rings true–that’s how the Russians do things.. The result is that we have an American president who is terrified of his counterpart in Moscow.”

Many pushed back at Peters’ remarks.
Nobody heard of Ralph Peters until he “quit” FoxNews.

Ralph Peters says that Fox News is causing “unjustified paranoia among viewers” by spreading “propaganda.” Have you not seen a CNN segment in the last 15 months!? ? What a loser.

Drooling warmongering neocon propagandist Ralph Peters quits @FoxNews because it’s “propaganda” and he’s ashamed to appear on the network? He should be ashamed for his own constant lies about Russia, Syria, war war war!

Ralph Peters leaving Fox News because he says it’s turned into a propaganda machine.
Ralph Peters is a disgrace to our country. He voted for Hillary Clinton, he’s a never Trump idiot. He will fit in perfectly with the communists at CNN.
Want to see real propaganda, go to CNN!

I voted for Trumps policies and thus far I am thrilled that he is doing what he campaigned for. Ralph Peters, like everyone else that voted Hillary, are saying the same garbage because Trump is exceeding expectations.
Keep up the good work, Mr. President.

Funny, the good Lt. Col. never mentioned MSM being an extension of the DNC and their Propaganda Machine.

But, of course, Peters’ scathing denunciation of the president and Fox News was welcomed by the left.
USA Today contributor Tom Nichols applauded Peters for “telling the truth.”
Good for Ralph Peters for quitting Fox. I haven’t always agreed with him, but he’s telling the truth. There comes a time when you have to walk.

Kurt Eichenwald used the occasion to rip Hannity and Carlson.
What conspiracy theories can @seanhannity & @TuckerCarlson spin 2 explain why Fox contributor Ret. Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters of 1st Armored Division says they harm USA.
Got it: Anagram of name/division:
“Clinton President. Trump Criminal.”HAH! He’s biased! Or something. pic.twitter.com/KS8juz5aDc

Jay Nordlinger, a commentator at National Review, was also among Peters’ supporters.
What Ralph Peters has done took brass. Not many would do it. I salute him. https://t.co/wLU5NPd8JC
