Video: Hillary Clinton tumbles, slips down flight of stairs in India – twice

Hillary Clinton seems to have gotten stair-walking lessons from Gerald Ford himself.

The former Secretary of State was in India as part of her book tour on Monday when she began to slip while walking down a flight of stairs, nearly falling on two occasions but for the intervention of her aides, as seen in footage obtained by the American Mirror.

Clinton was in the process of descending the stairs at the historic Jahaz Mahal in Dhar’s Mandu when she appeared to lose her balance, requiring a nearby aide to jump in and prop her up together with the one escorting her.

The three had only taken a two steps before Clinton again tripped, almost falling over.

The former presidential candidate then took off her sandals, which were picked up by another helper, and then made it down the rest of the way safely. Long-time aide Huma Abedin was behind supervising the scene.

Clinton’s visit to India was part of a promotional tour for her book, “What Happened,” a memoir about the 2016 US presidential election.

She told an audience at the India Today Conclave that President Trump’s supporters “didn’t like black people getting rights” or women getting jobs.

“If you look at the map of the United States, there’s all that red in the middle where Trump won,” Clinton said. “I win the coasts, I win Illinois, I win Minnesota, places like that.

“What the map doesn’t show you is that I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s gross domestic product. So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backwards.”

Clinton has had near-falls before, famously having an incident at a 9/11 memorial in 2016.

On that occasion, her campaign said she had suffered from a case of pneumonia.
