In what serves as a model for conservative Americans that taking a principled stand against media bias can drive results, Joy Behar apologized on Tuesday for offending millions of Christians.
Publicly.
Just as the cohost of ABC’s “The View” publicly insulted Christians last month when she likened their faith to mental illness while ripping on Vice President Mike Pence.
“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you,” Behar said. “That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct. Hearing voices.”
Behar apologized privately to Pence, who said she should also apology to millions of Christians who were “equally offended.”
A national campaign led by Media Research Center President Brent Bozell applied pressure on ABC in a call for a public apology, with Bozell saying a private apology is “not nearly enough.”
Pence took the time to talk Fox News host Sean Hannity Monday night and revealed part of their private conversation.
“Of course I forgive you,” Pence said he told Behar. “That’s a part of my faith experience. But, I did encourage her, and I’m still encouraging her to use the forum of that program or of some other public forum to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended.”

And Behar finally did just that.
“I think Vice President Pence is right. I was raised to respect everyone’s religious faith and I fell short of that,” Behar said Tuesday on “The View.”
“I sincerely apologize for what I said,” she added, looking as if she just drank sour milk.
Or does she always look that way?
