Amid a “stony silence” from ABC, pressure continues to grow for Joy Behar, co-host of “The View,” to publicly apologize for offending millions of Christians.
Behar criticized Vice President Mike Pence on Feb. 13, for suggesting God speaks to him during prayer.
“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you,” Behar said. “That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct. Hearing voices.”
According to Fox News, multiple sources at ABC have said Behar’s insulting remarks did not get reviewed by the network’s Editorial Standards and Practices department.
Which means, in effect, ABC has done nothing.
The department typically determines if a public apology is required, and whether any discipline is issued.
ABC is owned by Disney, and CEO Bob Iger addressed the matter at the company’s annual 2018 shareholder meeting last week, stating that Behar apologized to Pence “directly,” which he felt was “absolutely appropriate.”

Iger also said he took exception to Behar’s offensive comment.
“I happen to take exception with what she said,” he said. “I don’t think it was right and I was glad to hear she apologized.”
Now, how about the other 227 million Christians in America?
But it appears that ABC is content with a non-apology Behar issued last month on “The View,” which the network pointed Fox News to.
“I don’t mean to offend people but apparently I keep doing it,” she said. “It was a joke.”

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell, who is leading a campaign to “hold the advertisers of ‘The View’ accountable,” said in a statement that Behar’s private apology is “not nearly enough.”
“Behar and ABC need to publicly apologize for the bigoted slurs on ‘The View,'” Bozell said.
Stormy Daniels offers to pay back $130,00 so she can break deal. That’s not how contracts work, sweetie.
“The bigoted statements made about the vice president’s Christian faith offended hundreds of millions of Christians across the country, the largest faith group in the United States. Their apology should therefore be as public as their insult.”
America is waiting, ABC.
