A Parkland shooting survivor was moved by his meeting with Melania Trump and shamed detractors for theirĀ “ridiculous, baseless, and moronic” criticism of the first lady.
Melania Trump thanked Stoneman Douglas High School student Kyle Kashuv for visiting the White House on Thursday and hoped he enjoyed his “surprise meeting with @potus!”
The student survived the tragic shooting at the Florida high school that claimed the lives of 17 people and has been making the rounds in Washington. As a supporter of the Second Amendment, Kashuv has added his voice to the media-driven debate on gun control, with little fanfare from the media.
“Wonderful to meet @KyleKashuv today. His message of unity is one we should all share. Thank you for visiting us at the @WhiteHouse & hope you enjoyed your surprise meeting with @potus! Wishing you much success w @TheReachOutApp,” read a tweet shared on the first lady’s Twitter account .

Kashuv is a conservative student who supports the Second Amendment and wants to make sure lawmakers understand that there are two sides to the debate.
āIām a very strong Second Amendment supporter and I’ll continue to be throughout this entire campaign.ā Kashuv said in an exclusive interview with Townhall’s Guy Benson.
āAs of right now, my main goal is to meet with legislators and represent to them that there are big Second Amendment supporters in our community,” he added. “Through this entire thing, my number one concern has been making sure that the rights of innocent Americans arenāt infringed upon.ā
Kashuv is also working on creating an app to help prevent future school shootings by connecting troubled teens with peers they can talk to.
#ReachOut is a chat app that let's students reach out to one another. When a student is struggling emotionally or just needs someone to talk to, this app gives them a platform to seek help from other student volunteers.
More to come!

Kashuv isn’t just a defender of the Second Amendment, he also took to social media to defend Melania Trump, who was attacked by the same people who revered former first lady Michelle Obama as royalty — the difference being who Melania’s husband is…Ā and the color of her skin.
But Kashuv, who is no fan of Twitter, saying in one interview it’s “cancerous and a waste of time,āĀ did not respond by duplicating the hate-filled attacks, shaming the detractors instead by asking why they must “change the narrative from a positive?”

“Knocking our wonderful @FLOTUS is ridiculous, baseless, and moronic. The First Lady is nothing short of world class and represents our country as good as anyone can. The First Lady treated me like a son yesterday. I was touched. Why change the narrative from a positive?!?” he tweeted.

That’s the question many Americans have been asking since the first day Trump took office.
