For liberals, it’s offend in public, apologize in private.
Disney CEO Bob Iger said during a company shareholder meeting on Thursday that Joy Behar of ABC’s “The View” privately apologized to Vice President Mike Pence for accusing him of “mental illness” because he says Jesus speaks to him, Fox News reports.
Iger was responding to a question from Justin Danhof, general counsel for the National Center for Public Policy Research, a conservative think tank.
Danhof questioned decisions taken by Disney’s subsidiaries, including ABC and ESPN, calling them “strange when trust in media is at an all-time low.”
He brought up Behar, as well as ESPN host Jemele Hill, who called President Trump a “white supremacist.”
“What do you say to the tens of millions of Christians, and President Trump supporters, that your networks have so blatantly offended and ascribed hateful labels?” Danhof pressed.
“Specifically, do you think, like Mrs. Hostin and Mrs. Behar, that the Christian faith is akin to a dangerous mental illness?”
“First of all, Joy Behar apologized to Vice President Pence directly,” Iger replied. “She made a call to him and apologized, which I thought was absolutely appropriate.”
The Disney chief also “took exception” to what Behar said. “I don’t think it was right,” he added.
A source close to Pence confirmed to Fox News that Behar did apologize.
After the meeting, Danhof told Fox News:
“Not the most powerful man in Hollywood, today he was the most tepid man in Hollywood. He took one real question after about a dozen soliloquies of praise for how great and wonderful he is.”
Last month, Behar criticized Pence’s Christian faith.
“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices,” she said on “The View.”
The TV personality did not suggest Oprah Winfrey suffers from mental illness after the former talk show host said God told her not to run for president.
Behar’s remark prompted backlash.
The Media Research Center led a campaign to hold “hold the advertisers of ‘The View’ accountable,” bombarding ABC President James Goldston with over 30,000 phone calls.
“It is a good first step that Joy Behar privately apologized to Vice President Pence, but it is not nearly enough,” MRC President Brent Bozell told Fox News. “Behar and ABC need to publicly apologize for the bigoted slurs on ‘The View.’
“Their apology should therefore be as public as their insult. When they do that, this whole matter will be put to rest. Until they do, we will not let up our campaign to let the world — including their advertisers — know of their anti-Christian bigotry.”
Joe Concha, media columnist for The Hill, also told Fox that “The View” is “a pure opinion and infotainment program and therefore should be under its entertainment division.”
Behar’s apology was widely panned for its alleged insincerity and for being done in private when her comment was made publicly.

Joy Behar, as with all fake intolerant loud mouth liberals, only apologize when they’re forced to, and even then, it’s never a true apology.

If she was actually sorry she should probably say it on air. She’s a grown woman that needs to take personal responsibility (I know a foreign concept) for her inflammatory words.
