President Donald Trump attended the 133rd annual Gridiron Dinner with first lady Melania Trump on Saturday and was joined by elegantĀ first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.
Ivanka and Kushner, decked out in formal wear, can be seen in the video below being redirected as they arrived at the Renaissance Washington Hotel.
The couple have been married since 2009 and have three children.
Ivanka shared an adorable pre-dinner photo with daughter Arabella Rose KushnerĀ hiding under her dress on Instagram.
“My pre-game partner in crime!” the caption read.
The dinner featured journalists, media executives, members of Trumpās Cabinet, six senators and four House members, according to Deadline.
Accused frequently of being thin-skinned, President Trump reassured the audience that ānobody does self-deprecating humor better than I do,ā the Associated Press reported.
He got a crack in about his son-in-law’s recent security clearance troubles, saying, āWe were late tonight because Jared could not get through security.ā
Of course, his daughter and son-in-law’s presence at the dinner is noteworthy, given a New York Times report claiming Trump asked chief of staff John Kelly to help him in pushing them out of the White House.
Citing the prerequisite anonymous sources in the know, the paper said the president is frustrated with Kushner after his security clearance was downgraded this week.
Ivanka Trump was just in the news for shutting down NBCās Peter Alexander in an interview after he ambushed her with a question about her father’s female accusers, which might make for an awkward moment of rubbing elbows.
āI think itās a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when heās affirmatively stated thereās no truth to it,ā she told the reporter, with a heavy reliance on charm.
