People are scratching their heads over Jim Carrey’s new hobby.
The actor-comedian made a series of paintings in response to the Valentine’s Day shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.–including one depicting a young girl dead in a pool of blood on top of the flag.

“Oh say, can’t you see?!” Carrey wrote in his tweet’s caption, a reference to the national anthem. The image showed the girl’s school supplies sprawled on the floor, as well as several bloody footprints.
Carrey’s politically-charged artwork brought to mind this month’s mass shooting, in which 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz killed 3 teachers and 14 students–some as young as 14.
The “Truman Show” actor also shared a painting he made that ridiculed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who was grilled at a heated pro-gun control town hall hosted by CNN last week.
Rubio‘s agenda is clear. Keep taking millions from the NRA and wash the blood of innocent children off his hands. Apparently $3.3 million is the price of this politician’s soul. pic.twitter.com/wom4IrTfsj

The painting showed Rubio’s hands covered in blood, suggesting the senator was responsible for those killed in the shooting.
“Rubio‘s agenda is clear,” Carrey said in his tweet’s caption. “Keep taking millions from the NRA and wash the blood of innocent children off his hands. Apparently $3.3 million is the price of this politician’s soul.”
Other tweets and paintings targeted President Trump, mocking his golf-playing and his support for arming capable teachers as a way of stopping school shootings.
It’s President's Day and Chief Little Hands has been busy tweeting from his golf resort, a chip shot away from the latest bloody school shooting. He was hoping to play a few holes while grieving families are busy digging them. I support @cameron_kasky #neveragain pic.twitter.com/ndJcrk3Sw5

Great news! The President's answer to school shootings is to arm the glee club! ;^P pic.twitter.com/spSnwTo4Hz

“Great news! The President’s answer to school shootings is to arm the glee club!” Carrey jeered.
In past works of art, the Canadian-American entertainer has lampooned House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), and Chief of Staff John Kelly.
Tone deaf Paul Ryan brags that his tax bill is going to make low income voters an extra $1.50 a week! That’s almost enough for a box of Band-Aids. Who needs healthcare? WAKE UP REPUBLICAN BASE! You are parked on the tracks, cheering for the train that’s about to run you down. ;^P pic.twitter.com/Xh0dAiSGtC

All who enter his crooked carnival with integrity are doomed to leave without it. General Kelly has been trampled by his own compromise. Who dares be the next to ride the carousel of fools?! Muahahaha!!! pic.twitter.com/MQDvFBrYlG

Last year, Carrey told W Magazine that he’s been making cartoons for years but only recently began to make them public.
“I do a lot of political cartoons,” he said. “I’ve been doing them all along. When I was in grade six, my teacher confiscated a bunch of the cartoons I made in the back of class of her being mutilated by bombs and axes, dogs chewing her leg, whatever.
“And then she sent them back to me when I got famous (laughs). She’s been saving them; she said she knew something was going on there.”

Some of Carrey’s fans praised his artwork.
People say Jim Carrey is classified as crazy to tell us the truth but in reality he is the smartest man

Your art speaks to me a thousand times more than your incredible humour. Thank you for being you

Others weren’t impressed.
…don’t quit your day job.

Jim. Your fans would love it if you could stick to comedy. Make us laugh. Don’t preach. It’s tedious. Stop it.

60 year old illustrator here: aside from the lack of insight, anything clever to add to the discussion you really have no artistic skills in the draftsmanship style you’re working. It’s high school work at best. But I really liked The Truman Show.

You know I have never liked you but this takes the cake. There are parents out their that have just burried their children and are in more pain that you will ever imagine but yet the Hollywood elite have no compassion.@Alyssa_Milano @Oprah @CNN @seanhannity

So now that your career in Hollywood is over your a social pundit now?
— Rick Howell (@Rickohio61) February 26, 2018
Would be cool if Carrey spent more time reading history books than telling other people how to think with emotional arguments.

Please stop trying to be relevant Jim, you’re only making yourself look that much more pathetic with every tweet. It’s not Trumps fault your GF OD’d. Maybe look in the mirror and see reality for once in your life..
