NRA members are fighting back at the wave of public backlash following last week’s school shooting in Florida.
Three car rental companies severed ties with the National Rifle Association on Thursday, ending discounts for members of the gun rights group. The move prompted public outcry from NRA members, who vowed to boycott Enterprise, Alamo and National car rental services.
The three companies are owned by Enterprise Holdings Inc. All three gave public notice via Twitter that the discount program for NRA members will end next month.

In each case, Enterprise Holdings said “We ended the program, effective March 26.”
In response, many NRA members and Twitter users sympathetic to the organization vowed to cease using Enterprise’s services.

You all do realize that other companies will step in to replace National right? If just 10% of NRA members rent a car once a month, thats a $24 million per year gain.

In addition to Enterprise, First National Bank of Omaha, the nation’s largest privately owned bank, also announced on Thursday that it would end its contract with the NRA for a branded VISA card.
Customer feedback has caused us to review our relationship with the NRA. As a result, First National Bank of Omaha will not renew its contract with the National Rifle Association to issue the NRA Visa Card.

The NRA has been the target of scrutiny in the wake of the shooting at Parkland, Fla.’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which left 17 dead.
Some observers, like documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, have even called the NRA a “terrorist organization.”

Dana Loesch, a spokesperson for the NRA, addressed concerns from shooting survivors at a CNN town hall in Sunrise, Fla. Wednesday.
At the event, pro-gun control student Emma Gonzalez told Loesch “I want you to know that we will support your two children in the way that you will not.”
President Trump has responded to the tragedy with several recommendations, including expanding background checks, banning “bump stocks,” and arming teachers.
