Schiff’s new talking point: FISA memo release may now cause Oklahoma City-style bombing

Democrats and their allies tried to prevent the release of the House Intelligence Committee memo by saying it would pose a risk to national security — it did not — and responded to its release by saying it will cause irreparable harm.

There was even a claim that the next federal agent to die in the line of duty will be the direct responsibility of President Donald Trump, for allowing the memo to be released.

But U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., took the crazy train all the way to the station when he suggested over the weekend the memo could lead to another Oklahoma City-style bombing.

The ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee appeared on ABC’s “This Week” and told host George Stephanopoulos people may not come forward with critical information out of distrust for the intelligence community.

(If only Demcorats took a similar stance when the left is smearing cops.)

“But it is impeaching the FBI,” Schiff said on Sunday, when asked if the release of the memo was discrediting Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

And that’s when he invoked a Timothy McVeigh-like bombing that took place in Oklahoma City.

“And the problem with this, and this is I think at the heart of the department’s concern, is if you have a neighbor who’s buying fertilizer, lots of fertilizer, but has no yard and you have concerns about it and you want to call the FBI, you’re now going to wonder ‘Is that FBI going to hold my name in confidence or this information in confidence, what if this becomes politicized?’”

All of which he laid at the doorstep of the GOP.

“Sources are going to dry up because of what the Republicans on this committee are doing now,” said the same individual who implied that the memo would be a threat to our national security.
