House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was a bit cranky Monday night during an appearance on CNN, telling host Chris Cuomo that he didn’t know what he was talking about.
Cuomo’s crime was to venture off the Democratic reservation and disagree with the California lawmaker during a discussion on the House Intelligence Committee voting to release the already infamous memo that shows potential FISA abuses in the course of the Russian collusion investigation — never mind that he was merely playing the devil’s advocate.
Pelosi said she has seen the memo and it’s a “total misrepresentation,” insisting that it would be a “reckless” violation of national security to release it.
“Christopher Wray, the director of the FBI obviously recently selected by President Trump, he got the memo,” Cuomo noted. “He could have come out and said ‘This is reckless, don’t release it.’”
“Let me just say this with all due respect,” Pelsoi replied, “you really don’t know what you’re talking about right now.”
Cuomo then asked whether the FBI director had seen the memo and it turned out that it was Pelosi who didn’t quite know what she was talking about.
“I can’t say whether he did or not, but he did not, he did not – in order to redact, you have to have the people who know…” she stumbled.
“I’m not saying redact, I’m saying if these concerns are so sharp and obvious,” Cuomo clarified.
“Well, they’ve already said not to release it,” Pelosi countered. “They already said not to release – the Justice Department already said it would be reckless to release it. You said that earlier.”
One thing seems certain, given how hard the Democrats are fighting to prevent its release, whatever’s in the memo must be a real doozy.
