Van Jones says Trump needs to emulate Jay-Z … who shot his brother and sold drugs to mothers

Democrats need better role models.

Liberal commentator Van Jones fired back at President Trump for responding to rapper Jay-Z, who called the president a “super bug” over his alleged comment calling Haiti and African nations “s***hole” countries.

In a Saturday night interview, Jay-Z told Jones:

“You don’t take the trash out. You just keep spraying whatever over it to make it acceptable. And then you know, as those things grow, you create a super bug. Now we have Donald Trump, the super bug.”

President Trump replied to the name-calling with a Sunday morning tweet touting record-low African American unemployment levels under his administration.

Jones responded on Twitter by saying he had asked Jay-Z about the president’s role in reducing black unemployment.

“It’s not about money at the end of the day,” said Jay-Z who has a net worth of $810 million. Money doesn’t equate to happiness. That’s missing the whole point.”

On CNN’s “Reliable Sources” Jones told Brian Stelter he gives greater credit to Barack Obama than President Trump for the improved economic situation among blacks.

“The emotional meeting around the economy,” Jones contended. “President Obama inherited a house on fire. Two wars and basically the great Depression and he was able to save the auto industry, turn that around, pass health care, et cetera.

“Trump for all his rhetoric actually inherited a pretty healthy economy that had been growing for years, a stock market that was growing for years and didn’t screw it up and he’s helping it to move forward. That’s great. But it is really unfortunate.”

Jones praised Jay-Z for being “vulnerable” during his interview, and excoriated President Trump’s “boasting.”

“I want to say one thing about Jay-Z. Sean ‘Jay-Z’ Carter came on our air last night and he did the opposite of Trump. He came on. He was confessional. He was vulnerable. He talked about mistakes he made in his marriage. He talked about challenges as a dad. He was so human and so vulnerable, and hip-hop is usually all acquisition and boasting.

“He comes on confessional and then the politicians are all accusational and boasting and Donald Trump–and no confession from Donald Trump. If you want to listen what Jay-Z says, follow Jay-Z’s model, Mr. President. He’s a strong guy. He’s a rich guy. But he’s willing to be confessional. He’s willing to grow in public. If you do the same thing, America would be a lot better off.”

He concluded by saying that Jay-Z is a “better example” for the country than the president.

“If he wants to talk about this stuff, don’t just talk the talk,” Jones challenged. “Walk the walk. Let’s be real about it. In the meantime, Jay-Z is a much better example for America than Donald Trump.”

According to an interview with The Guardian, Jay-Z shot his brother, a drug addict, in the shoulder at age 12. The artist said he thought he would “go to jail forever” over the incident.

In one song, Jay-Z rapped about selling crack to his mother. He later clarified it wasn’t his mother, but rather a metaphor for all the mothers he sold drugs to.

In 1999, Jay-Z was slapped with three years’ probation for stabbing record executive Lance “Un” Rivera at a party.

It’s encouraging to know liberals look up to violent drug dealers as heroes to emulate.
