Trump Derangement Syndrome rose to a whole new level when haters pounced on a paper glass cover protecting President Donald Trump’s water glass during an exclusive interview with Piers Morgan.
In fact, the president went so far as to have a napkin strategically placed under the glass!
Morgan was fully aware of how big a “get” the interview was, boasting on Twitter.
“Incredible response to #TrumpMorgan… love him or hate him – and there’s no middle ground! -nobody in the world draws a bigger, more visceral reaction than Donald Trump,” he tweeted, along with a photo of the two.

President Trump sat down with Morgan while in Davos, Switzerland, attending an economic summit and viewers, to include the media, reacted to a customary cover on a glass of water by ridiculing Trump and calling the practice “bizarre.”
The president has previously acknowledged that he’s “very much a germaphobe,” but the idea of a glass of water that was very likely pre-set being covered doesn’t quite rise to that level.
But don’t tell that to detractors who will jump on ANY occasion to mock Trump.

‘Scared of being poisoned’ Donald Trump put a lid on his glass of water.

. @piersmorgan, can you answer the question on everyone's lips… What's the deal with the lid on the glass of water? #TrumpMorgan

Of course, Morgan knows how to play up an angle when an opportunity presents itself, sharing a photo of the paper glass cover and napkin bearing the seal of the President of the United States.
To all those asking… of course I kept President Trump’s special water glass accessories! #TrumpMorgan pic.twitter.com/5f13URK4tD

But more than one social media user was only too happy to explain just how common the practice is… and offer their own theory.
