Geraldo joins chorus of media personalities demanding: ‘Release the Damn Memo!’

Geraldo Rivera urged Congress to release the memo that reportedly spotlights the rampant anti-Trump bias of top DOJ and FBI officials, saying the public has the right to know if the nation’s intel agencies are corrupt and politically compromised.

“Release the damn memo!” Rivera said on Fox News. “People should know that there is corruption, however difficult it is to come to grips with that. A corruption at the heart or whoever is dealing with this probe of ‘Russiagate’ and the president.”

Geraldo, a self-proclaimed “moderate Republican” who leans very liberal, explained:  “This is a country that is supposed to be open government. Let’s release this damn memo … As I understand it, the heart of this memo suggests very strongly that the FBI was not impartial in terms of its probe of the president and Russiagate. If they were not impartial, if it was politically motivated in any aspect of the investigation … then the people should know that.”

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee compiled a four-page memo that reportedly details the blatant anti-Trump, pro-Hillary bias in the upper levels of the FBI and the Department of Justice.

The memo discusses a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant used to spy on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The memo reportedly shows the DOJ used the discredited “Trump dossier” as the basis to unlawfully spy on Page and other Trump officials.

Rivera says if that’s what happened, the entire Russia investigation is built on a “cancerous, rotten foundation” that must be made public to the American people.

“This FISA warrant that led to the investigation of Carter Page — if indeed the FISA warrant…was based on the discredited Steele dossier — then there’s a rotten foundation,” Geraldo said. “You can’t build a building on a cancerous, rotten foundation. You have to release the memo. You have to be full disclosure.”

The Robert Mueller investigation has come under fire amid epic screw-ups that show the special counsel’s team is too partisan and unprofessional to do their jobs properly.

Among them: more than 50,000 anti-Trump, pro-Hillary texts were uncovered between Peter Strzok — the deputy director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division — and his mistress Lisa Page, an FBI attorney. The two had an affair while working together on Mueller’s Russia probe.

In their texts, Strzok and Page mocked President Trump as “an idiot” and a “menace” and discussed what they should do to keep him from getting elected. They also discussed the existence of a “Secret Society” that would sabotage and undermine Trump if he got elected.

For once, Geraldo is 100% right: Release the memo.
