After canceling a planned trip to Davos, Switzerland accompanying her husband President Trump, first lady Melania Trump turned up in Florida in an unannounced visit.
She arrived in West Palm Beach around midday Thursday, a law enforcement source confirmed to CNN. Her plane and a motorcade were spotted but there was no official word about her arrival or plans as she likely headed to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach.
In another surprise visit, before arriving in Florida the first lady made a stop at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., to recognize International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is on Saturday. She tweeted photos of her visit and issued a statement following the stop.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the people whose lives and families were broken by the horrors of the Holocaust,” Trump said in the statement. “Yet it is also through our shared humanity that we come together now in commemoration, strength, and love. My heart is with you, and we remember.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request from CNN for comment on the first lady’s trip and museum visit.
Initially scheduled to attend the World Economic Forum in Switzerland this week accompanying her husband, who has received an enthusiastic welcome, Trump cancelled the trip Monday which was also the couple’s 13th wedding anniversary.
East Wing communications director Stephanie Grisham told CNN the change was due to “scheduling and logistical issues.”
