Turns out, Republicans are pretty darn happy with the direction the U.S. is going

Despite what the “Resistance” believes, President Trump is winning where it counts: with the people who voted him into office.

A new Gallup poll reveals 61 percent of Republicans are satisfied with the direction America is going. The number constitutes the highest level of Republican satisfaction since February 2007.

Among the Republicans surveyed, 25 percent reported being “very satisfied” with the way things are going. Another 36 were “somewhat satisfied,” while 23 percent were “somewhat dissatisfied” and 15 percent were “very dissatisfied.”

By contrast, only 5 percent of Democrats said they are “very satisfied” with the nation’s direction. Six percent were in the “somewhat satisfied” category and 24 percent said they were “somewhat dissatisfied.”

The vast majority of Democrats–a whopping 68 percent–claimed to be “very dissatisfied” with the way things are going in the US.

For independents, the total figure of satisfaction was 30 percent, while 66 percent expressed some degree of dissatisfaction.

Gallup noted that the high GOP satisfaction–which hasn’t reached current levels since before Barack Obama took office–came after Republicans scored a major legislative win in the form of historic tax cuts in December.

“As long as nothing reverses that momentum, Trump will be addressing a particularly energized Republican rank and file in his State of the Union address after a rocky year when they weren’t so satisfied with the nation’s direction,” Gallup wrote.

The Trump-backed GOP tax reform bill has led companies across America to offer their employees wage increases, as well as bonuses of as much as $2,000.

Demographics that didn’t vote for President Trump in large numbers are also seeing improved circumstances under the Trump administration.  Black and Hispanic unemployment are at historic lows.

While Democrats kick and scream about racism and collusion, the president is helping create opportunity for people of all backgrounds–and Americans are taking notice.
