With former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon set to testify behind closed doors Tuesday before the House Intelligence Committee, President Donald Trump has declared the ongoing investigation into whether his campaign colluded with Russia to be “dead.”
Taking to social media, Trump showed no concerns over the former aide fired back in August appearing before a House panel conducting its own investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
“Do you notice the Fake News Mainstream Media never likes covering the great and record-setting economic news, but rather talks about anything negative or that can be turned into the negative. The Russian Collusion Hoax is dead, except as it pertains to the Dems. Public gets it!” Trump tweeted.
Of course, the way Bannon backed down in response to the president’s reaction to the gossipy tell-all book, “Fire and Fury,” which featured a heavy assist from Bannon, who is quoted in the book making disparaging remarks about Donald Trump Jr, President Trump has no reason to be concerned.
Not only did Bannon expressed “regret” over his deeply critical comments, he pledged his “unwavering” support for the president and his agenda.

This is not the first time Trump has said the collusion claim, which he has denied all along, is “dead,” according to the Washington Examiner.
“I guess the collusion now is dead, because everyone found out after a year of study there’s been absolutely no collusion,”he said while speaking with reporters during a media availability at Camp David earlier this month. “There’s been no collusion between us and the Russians.”
