Fans of Tim Allen’s canceled show “Last Man Standing” are looking to take advantage of the news that Roseanne Barr is resurrecting her character in a reboot of “Roseanne” to call on ABC to bring Allen’s show back.
And Allen is overwhelmed by their efforts.
The modern-day Roseanne will be a President Trump supporter and Allen’s character, Mike Baxter, was also a conservative.
“I have always … attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and working class people. And, in fact, it was working class people that elected Trump so I felt that was very real and something that needed to be discussed,” Barr said last week during a Q&A at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.
All of which resulted in an impromptu social media campaign to get Allen’s “Last Man Standing” back on air. A petition was started and has more than 420,000 signatures as of this writing.

One fan came up with the brilliant promotional tactic of having “Roseanne” feature Allen’s character in a guest shot.

Allen, an outspoken conservative, told Page Six he is all for bringing the show back.
“The support from all the fans to bring back ‘Last Man Standing’ is truly overwhelming to me and so appreciated,” Allen said in a statement. “I, along with the talented writers, wonderful crew and terrific actors, would definitely entertain the idea of bringing the show back as there is so much gas left in the tank, more to be said and laughs to be had.
“I know fans would love nothing more than for us to take the cover off, fire up the engine, back this car out of the garage and get it back on the highway, full-throttle,” Allen continued. “My sentiment sits in the front seat beside you.”
