Bannon is out at Breitbart, but murmurs about where he might go next have media terrified

Steve Bannon is out as CEO of Breitbart after a tumultuous few weeks that saw the publication of numerous acidic anti-Trump quotes, an apology, and a public falling out with the billionaire Mercer family (this was actually a long-time coming).

Amidst the scrambling is a savvy observation by conservative radio host Bill Mitchell, which might count a bit as prognostication: What if this shakeup is part of a move for Bannon to head to a media platform that would amplify his voice even more than Breitbart News?

Fox News.

“Imagine this,” Mitchell writes. “Bannon leaves the WH and joins FoxNews where he promotes Nationalism and has a BIGGER influence on Trump than from the WH?”

There has been no indication by Fox News or Breitbart News that this is as yet in the cards, but any attempt by Bannon to get a voice on Fox, which has hired such campaign hands as Bush campaign mastermind Karl Rove and former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, would make a lot of sense.

The reaction to the suggestion both electrified Bannon supporters and gave his adversaries chills.

Steve Bannon has made no announcement of his future after Breitbart News. As for the prospect of the former Trump campaign strategist taking a position at Fox News, America will have to stay tuned.
