President Trump continued to blast “Fire and Fury” author Michael Wolff and took another shot at former White House strategist “Sloppy Steve” Bannon.
Speaking with reporters on Saturday, Trump said Wolff “does not know me,” referring to the author of the newly-released tell-all book about the Trump administration. “It didn’t exist, okay? It’s in his imagination.”
“The libel laws are very weak in this country,” Trump went on.” If they were strong, it would be very helpful. You wouldn’t have things like that happen where you can say whatever comes to your head.”
The president clarified that Wolff never interviewed him, then fired off again at Bannon, who was at the receiving end of a scathing rebuke from Trump when excerpts from the book were released quoting the former White House staffer criticizing members of Trump’s family and administration.
“Just so you know, I never interviewed with him in the White House at all. He was never in the Oval Office. We didn’t have an interview. I did a quick interview with him a long time ago, having to do with an article. But I don’t know this man,” Trump told reporters. “I guess sloppy Steve brought him into the White House quite a bit and it was one of those things. That’s why Sloppy Steve is now looking for a job.”
Trump crowned Bannon with the new nickname in a tweet, prompting Donald Trump Jr. to call the name “branding gold.”

While Bannon’s quotes from the Wolff expose fired up the president, the Breitbart CEO was reportedly on the verge of releasing a statement defending the president and dismissing the book when Trump blasted him.
