Trump: Democrats are hiding evidence of illegal voting

President Trump isn’t one to take a setback silently.

On Thursday, the president lashed out at Democratic governors for allegedly concealing evidence of illegal voting.

“Many mostly Democrat States refused to hand over data from the 2016 Election to the Commission On Voter Fraud,” he wrote. “They fought hard that the Commission not see their records or methods because they know that many people are voting illegally. System is rigged, must go to Voter I.D.”

The tweet came in response to President Trump’s decision on Wednesday to dissolve his Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, established last May to investigate allegations of widespread voter fraud in the 2016 election.

The panel was led by Vice President Mike Pence and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach. Several states refused to provide the commission with requested voter information, which prevented it from performing its job.

The president continued with an argument in favor of voter identification laws.

“As Americans, you need identification, sometimes in a very strong and accurate form, for almost everything you do…..except when it comes to the most important thing, VOTING for the people that run your country. Push hard for Voter Identification!” President Trump exclaimed.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders explained the president chose to dissolve the commission by executive order “rather than engage in endless legal battles at taxpayer expense.”

The Department of Homeland Security will reportedly assume the functions of the commission.

President Trump has previously alleged “millions” of people voted illegally in the 2016 election.

Among those who opposed the president’s voter fraud commission was Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, who said “I have no intention of honoring this request. Virginia conducts fair, honest, and democratic elections, and there is no evidence of significant voter fraud in Virginia.”

A number of voter fraud cases have been recorded over the years, including 742 criminal vote-fraud convictions recorded by the Heritage Foundation since 2000.

Democrats continue to scream that there’s no evidence of voter fraud. Are they afraid of revealing how deep the rabbit hole goes?
