Time’s Up: Hollywood insiders like Witherspoon and Aniston put industry dirtbags on notice

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, the crème de la crème of Hollywood A-list royalty, are among more than 300 women in the entertainment industry who signed a “letter of solidarity” to counter sexual harassment.

The letter kicked off an initiative titled, “Time’s Up,” which features a coalition out “to help survivors of sexual assault and harassment across all industries challenge those responsible for the harm against them and give voice to their experiences.”

“The clock has run out on sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the workplace. It’s time to do something about it,” the group’s website declares.

No more silence. No more waiting. No more tolerance for discrimination, harassment or abuse,” the website reads. “Time’s up.”

The campaign seeks to lend support to victims, bring about legislative change and to raise legal funds, Fox News reported.

“We remain committed to holding our own workplaces accountable, pushing for swift and effective change to make the entertainment industry a safe and equitable place for everyone, and telling women’s stories through our eyes and voices with the goal of shifting our society’s perception and treatment of women,” the letter states.

Other Time’s Up members include the actresses Ashley Judd, Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Natalie Portman, Rashida Jones, Emma Stone and Kerry Washington.

Witherspoon and Aniston have joined forces in the past, lending their talents and star power to a fundraising telecast in support of Stand Up To Cancer.

Aniston was on hand at the ELLE’s Women in Hollywood event in October when her friend confessed her own tragic experiences when she was just 16-years-old.

In a powerful message, Witherspoon said it had been hard to sleep after the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal exploded because it forced her to remember a lot of “ugly truths.”

Other celebrities and public officials took to Twitter to show their support for the “Time’s Up” initiative:
