Fatah’s response to President Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is to call for Palestinians to “strap on your weapon.”
The Palestinian nationalist movement, founded by the late Yasser Arafat and led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, appears to be calling for violence on Facebook in response to Trump’s decision, according to Palestinian Media Watch.
The post appeared on the official Fatah page on December 14 and featured a photo of a hand holding an AK-47 and included the hashtags: #Rage for Jerusalem and #Rage for Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“Strap on your weapon over your wound, and tomorrow you will awaken to a morning of freedom,” the message states, according to the translation provided by PMW.
Abbas said Friday he would not accept any further American role in the Middle East peace process, calling Washington a “dishonest mediator,” according to The Times of Israel.
The call for armed resistance comes after Israel Defense Forces posted a video earlier this week of “rioters” being ferried to a West Bank protest in Ramallah in the back of a a Red Crescent ambulance.
