Leading off his Saturday night show on Fox News, host Jesse Watters spoke directly to the root of the anti-Trump deep state forces implanted inside investigatory agencies like the FBI, and liberal media outlets are predictably freaking out about it.
It’s quite literally a “coup” against the president, Watters said, and the “smoking gun” is there for all to see.

Defining the FBI as now a “part of the Resistance,” the Fox News host specifically mentioned several of the anti-Trump text messages between agent Peter Strzok and his girlfriend, another FBI agent, text messages that go far beyond mere political preference.
Put it this way, when the “lead agent on Robert Mueller’s team investigating Donald Trump agreed that it was his job to ‘protect the country from that menace’ [meaning Trump],” what reasonable person wouldn’t think partisanship could possibly be a problem?
“It’s like the FBI had Michael Moore investigating the president of the United States,” Watters said. “This is smoking gun evidence that the FBI agents investigating Donald Trump believe that it was their duty to protect the country from his presidency, and they had a plan in place to achieve their goal.”
April Ryan finally gets her pie, and it changes everything!
Although the agent was eventually removed from the investigation, the “damage was already done” as he had apparently already seen to it that Hillary Clinton was off the hook.
“The investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign has been crooked from the jump,” said Watters before calling for a Congressional investigation into the matter. “But the scary part is we may now have proof the investigation was weaponized to destroy his presidency for partisan political purposes and to disenfranchise millions of American voters. Now if that’s true, we have a coup on our hands in America.”
Like clockwork, liberal media outlets reacted to Watters’ ‘Words’ with the predictable vitriol. In a piece describing how “Fox News has recently ramped up its frenzied rhetorical war against special counsel Robert Mueller and the FBI in general,” New York Magazine wrote, “On Saturday evening, Jesse Watters and the network’s chyron writers went above and beyond even the usual Fox bombast. During Watters’ World, Jesse Watters railed against Peter Strzok, who was removed from the Mueller investigation after it was revealed that he had sent anti-Trump texts.”
Mediaite and Slate both emphasized the “coup” aspect of Watters’ argument by showing the clip below during Watters’ interview with Kellyanne Conway:
And there was plenty of negative Twitter reaction from the hysterical left who, perhaps, believe Watters is getting a bit too close to the truth…
Cable news banners don’t just appear out of thin air. Producers brainstorm, fact-check, proof-read them. Hosts are sometimes involved too. Yes, mistakes slip through occasionally. But this doesn’t look like a mistake… pic.twitter.com/nZkbRyKxUE

Coup?! I cover wars. Militaries. Actual coups. Where citizens violently rise up and kill each other for power over each other.
This is alarmingly irresponsible language, even for Fox. Inflammatory. Baseless. Dangerous. https://t.co/1tGrKZGfTR

Suggesting there is a ‘coup’ afoot – an illegal military action against a head of state – is extreme even for hyperbolic Fox. https://t.co/nxaIZEff5n

I wake up this morning in Israel to find out that while I was sleeping, my Twitter feed exploded because GSA gave Mueller transition emails, Team Trump wrote a letter complaining about it, and Fox News is warning of a coup. #BabyCannons are going back to bed!

Even pretend-conservative anti-Trump egghead Evan McMullin got in on the action:
Justin Trudeau not the only one gushing, European leaders call President Trump courageous
“A coup in America?” This is incredibly irresponsible rhetoric. It’s no surprise that the same network that still denies Russian interference for Trump, also uses this kind of language to describe law enforcement efforts to uphold the law and our sovereignty. https://t.co/VUilAaAhAD
