Diddy wants to buy Panthers after sex scandal rocks team owner; Kaepernick and half-time shows first priorities

Hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs wants to buy the Carolina Panthers so he can sign unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

“I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!” Combs tweeted Sunday night. “There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.”

Combs repeated his proposition on Instagram, where he said he’d let Kaepernick compete with current Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton for the starting position. Newton — who earned his starting QB spot — probably isn’t going to like that.

“I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback,” Diddy said. “It’s just competition, baby. It’s just competition.”

Combs also promised that his halftime shows would be much better than the ones the NFL has now (note to Diddy: Team owners don’t decide who performs at halftime.)

“I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music,” he promised. “And we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl!”

Combs also tweeted a 2003 photo of himself wearing a Panthers jersey, writing: “It’s time for Black ownership!”

NBA star Stephen Curry — the point guard for the Golden State Warriors — replied: “I want in!”

Kaepernick said he also wants a part of the action:

The Carolina Panthers’ current owner, Jerry Richardson, announced he will sell the team after recently being accused of sexual harassment by several female employees.

Combs, whose net worth tops $820 million according to Forbes, is in a good financial position to buy the Panthers franchise, which is reportedly worth $1 billion. This isn’t the first time the rap mogul has expressed a desire to buy an NFL team.

Colin Kaepernick time

In 2013, Diddy told Bloomberg TV he wants to become the first black NFL team owner. “I think it’s time for that,” he said. “A majority of the players in the NFL are African-American but there are no African-American owners. So that’s one of my dreams.”

Actually, this is an excellent idea. Instead of complaining about racism, Diddy wants to put his money where his mouth is. If he pulls it off, it would be a feat similar to billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey, who owns her own television network. Instead of whining about how racism was holding her back, Oprah just went ahead and did it.

Diddy will likely find that once he has skin in the game by investing his own money, he’ll be less flippant about signing a quarterback who disrespects the national anthem, is anti-police, and was voted the most disliked player in the NFL. Once you become a team owner, you’ll quickly learn that the fans are your boss. And ratings and revenue are your lifeblood.

While Colin Kaepernick and his liberal supporters claim he remains unsigned because of racism in the NFL, sports analysts say Kaepernick is unemployed because he’s not good enough.

“This is simply a case of a guy who’s not good enough,” said sport journalist Jason Whitlock, who’s black. “His talents aren’t good enough to justify all the attention and noise and controversy. Tim Tebow [who’s white] ran into this exact same issue.”

NFL ratings and revenue have plunged thanks to Colin Kaepernick’s protests.

Whitlock said a terrible trend he has recently witnessed is the invasion of leftist politics into the NFL and other sports that is turning viewers off. Most people watch sports to have fun and get away from divisive politics.

Sarah Sanders torpedoes Ted Lieu for pushing fake news: Do your job!

“This invasion of progressive idealogy into the National Football League and sports. This is starting to smell like a shakedown,” Whitlock said. “This false narrative, that Colin Kaepernick is out of the league because all the owners are racist, that he’s being blackballed.”
