It appears Barack Obama was not the only person to send a thrill up Chris Matthews’ leg.
Add the MSNBC anchor to the list of top media personalities being accused of sexual harassment, with NBC confirming that a separation-related payment was made to one of Matthews’ female employees, according to The Daily Caller.

The complainant reportedly went on to work in a number of “high-profile” media roles after leaving the network.
On the heels of NBC News firing Matt Lauer, an assistant producer on “Hardball with Chris Mathews,” complained to company executives that Matthews allegedly made a series of “inappropriate comments and jokes about her while in the company of others.”
Internal sources say the woman was paid $40,000, although The Daily Caller reported a MSNBC spokesperson “later denied this and said she was paid a considerably smaller severance package instead.”
The spokesman said that after a thorough review, Matthews was formally reprimanded. Based on people with knowledge of the matter, the network concluded “the comments were inappropriate and juvenile but were not intended to be taken as propositions,” The Daily Caller reported.

Matthews, 71, is married to Kathleen Matthews, a former news anchor, since 1980 and they have three children.
It remains to be seen if this was an isolated case, which is rare with complaints of inappropriate behavior.
MSNBC declined to comment on whether there are other sexual harassment claims in Matthews’ history at the company.
Peter Hasson, associate editor at The Daily Caller, noted as much on Twitter.
“NBC refused to say whether this was the only sexual harassment claim against Chris Matthews,” Hasson tweeted.
